3rd row SUV choices?

No go on the truck, as I just bought a 2016 Tacoma

yes, it has to have 3rd row. We LOVE our pilot because it seats 8, and the versatility it affords. Not that we haul 8 around on a daily basis, but it's so nice to have. Plus, the Pilot is not that big exterior wise, and it's 4WD and works very well in the snow. Shoot, I think we should just keep it.

That's a bitchin truck. How do you like it so far?

I saw a couple of the facelifted Explorers today. They look super nice:

Just please don't get a black one so everyone won't think you're a cop. :laughing

At the car show, I was blown away with the little cargo room SUV's with 3rd row seats have. Even Suburbans and Yukon XLs (same GM vehicle), once the 3rd row seat is up, a stroller takes up nearly all the cargo area.

Sadly, if you do not need 4wd, a Minivan is the best for rear cargo room and a 3rd row seat. They have a well area that luggage items can go.

A mini van sounds like a vehicle you would recommend

I have a 5th Gen 4Runner (current body style) and you're right about lack of storage when the 3rd row. More importantly is you can't really fit an adult back there, not sure how the other mid sized SUVs compare in this regard, I know they'll be cramped for leg room but in my 4Runner I can't sit straight up in it and I'm only 5'-10".

We needed more space so we ended up with a mini van for now as a second vehicle until we're done with car seats (3 kids all in car seats now). Hate the idea of driving the minivan, but can't help like how practical it is. Oh yeah seats remove super easy or fold down and you can fit a 4'x8' piece of plywood between the wheel wells and still close the rear door. Super low deck height, lots of storage, cup holders, power sliding doors, plus all kinds of little details you wouldn't think of that make life so much easier with kids. You can get them in AWD too and I have zero desire to do any aftermarket upgrades for it.

Having said that I refuse to drive it without any kids in it...

Uh.....like a V6?

We did the minivan thing already, and I loved it. Drove it more than my m5.

Truck sounds as it's raspy and unrefined. Love that. This Taco is a keeper for sure.

Old roommate was a single dude, no kids, working professional who traveled all over California and sometimes to Oregon for work. He bought a minivan with all the options for his daily driver. Competitive cyclist so he'd throw bicycles and gear and everything in the back everywhere he went, said it was way easier and more convenient than roof racks or a bed or anything else for transport. Plus there were almost always fellow competitors locally who needed their bikes shipped to wherever he was going to so he'd load up 8-12 bikes and go.

Gotta admit for hauling anything other than motorcycles, they get the job done pretty conveniently.

I can drive like a complete retarded asshole in my minivan and not get a second look from LEO.
The V6 is enough to provide for the asshatery, so yeah it can be entertaining.

Slap a charger on ur truck already pls :p

We have a 2016 MDX and it's great. The tranny is barely ok (it's way better in Sport mode but still an automatic), but everything else is great. We have an exchange student living with us and we frequently use the 3rd row.
