95 mpg

I figure nowadays it isn't worth it to buy anything nice because all the idiot mouth breathers just smash up your shit while they are fucking around with their "smart" phones.

dickheads

lets see the cage costs $40 grand. (plus much higher insurance rates) and yea you get a free charger (should be a stock item).

the cage i have now costs me no payments. and does not need to have the batteries recharged (done while driving).
so $40 grand will buy me many years of gasoline.
maybe more years than the volt will last.

and i DO NOT need to be tied to a power station. can even carry extra fuel with me in very convent things called gas cans, can be bought everywhere.

sure the little toys are cute, but so are little girls. but girls grow up. :rofl

.

Some quick math shows me saving about $1800 a year if I were to commute a Volt to work. And that's at current gas prices, but for the sake of arguement, we'll say they never go up. So yeah, I'd have to keep the car an awful long time to pay for itself in fuel savings.

But in the meantime I'd have a nice state of the art new car with navigation, heated seats, keyless operation, and all the modern bells and whistles.

Plus the ability to drive in the carpool lane by myself legally. And not having to stop for gas for months at a time. Those two are damn near worth the $40k alone.

The more I talk about the Volt, the more I wanna just buy one for myself.

I don't get how people are even able to pay their bills and not end up in default with the math skills and reading comprehension for some folks...or maybe that IS the explanation.

$40K is like saying an Iphone is $600. No one is paying that for an Iphone...

Not even mentioning the quality of the car it would be worth 30-40k even if it was just a regular gas car.

Its like the Tesla S. No one is cross shopping that with a 1993 stripper Civic, its just a nice car that also electric.

BULLSHIT! They're cross shopping Tesla S's with E63's...errr, cross racing them. And sadly, beating the ICE car handily. Damn you electric power! First it's my muscle cars, next it's my sloooooowwwww sex!

Really? Even during manufacturing? That would be news to the EPA and the lithium processing plant in Pennsylvania that recently spent $7 million cleaning up the ground when they shut down.

Lithium batteries are currently being dumped in landfills. Aside from the simple trash volume aspect, nobody knows how long it will take before they start to break down. The thought that mining, processing, using and disposing of lithium batteries is environmentally neutral and totally friendly is wishful thinking.

No point in arguing.......This stuff will continue to get swept under the rug by the greenies, because it forces them to re-examine everything they tell their friends at Starbucks.

And does anyone really think most people recycle their dead laptop batteries? :rofl

read thread, horse wins :)

I suppose if you have some alternate definition of the term, that includes posting stupid shit and getting completely owned by multiple people (yet carrying on as if nothing happened) then yes, I suppose that would be a solid win.

For those of us with standard dictionaries (and perhaps also those that have realized that the world does not revolve around the stimulation of one's genitalia) it is kind of painful to watch -- like a mildly retarded toddler bursting into a dinner party, soiling himself and shouting "poop!" and thinking it the pinnacle of hilarity.

Thanks for proving my point, you obviously do not understand the intent of Horses posts.
The only thing I got out of this thread is that
A: I have a man crush on Horse
and
B: My cars faster than Beaus :twofinger , come at me bro!

Holy shit, I'm saving this quote, that was awesome!!! :rofl:rofl:rofl

I was watching the Motorweek test of the Tesla. They used a car owned by a private party because Tesla couldn't provide one yet. The owner of the car stated that he drove it from Fremont to Maryland, no problems, no delays....

Yeah...If only Bernie Madoff would of had math skills and reading comprehension... Same goes for those dudes at Enron.

That's all it takes. :laughing

How many other cars made the same trip, across country, with no problems ..No delays?

And..What is no delay? It didn't make the trip without battery recharges..So where do they come in?

Sorry, but anyone that would pay 30-40k for a similar performing, regular gas powered Volt would need to have their head examined. Can you name me another 150hp, compact sedan that does 0-60 in 9 seconds that sells for $35k? It's a nice little car, but it's not that nice.

Perhaps I wasn't clear enough, if it had a conventional drivetrain. The interior is on par with a car of that price point. Just the like Tesla is more on par with a MB, BMW, etc

Tell me this, are you gonna drive 2500 to 3000 miles in one shot?

Says the guy who owns an Avalanche, quite possibly the ugliest truck ever built.

Was it the plastic cladding that makes it so ugly or were they trying to cover up the ugly below it? I've never been clear.

Convert it to a real truck with minimal work, then never actually have the rear seal properly again. Brilliant!
