i clean with a toothbrush and simple green, and then reapply Bel Ray chain lube.

works great! i might try the WD-40 to clean as sometimes the gunk is fairly hard to cut with the simple green if it hasn't been done in awhile. i like to use simple green whenever possible, its better for the environment.
