Alta motors ceases operations

Five of us on Altas at Hollister yesterday, including ohio/ Marc. Big fun. I didn't catch any new news.

Sounds like the dirt version of a Buell convention. :teeth

Three Altas, a Yamaha and a Jack

Yeah, that...
They are all quiet, so that is pretty cool. But they are so easy to ride that nobody crashes and there is none of that drama...

We like to laugh at our friends, no?

Some core Alta dudes here... great conditions.

The correct term is Altarians.

Cool... officially jelly.

:thumbup

Altoids? Altans? Altmotorans?
I am gonna buy another, I swear. An SM I think.

Bud, you can ride it. No clutch.

Thanks Butch. The wrist is temporary... better be.

Butch I was thinking of you when I was following 1962siia closely down a long, snow-covered hill a few weeks ago. Our engines were dead, and it was just the sound of tires on snow and chains around sprockets. It was very cool.

Of course my helmet cam died. :(

That was fun coasting down that canyon. Especially after getting my a$$ handed to me on that single track. :laughing

I thought that descent was going to be a lot sketchier than it turned out to be.

Looks like things have changed a little bit from being in limbo and ceasing operations, to bankruptcy. Collection agencies are going around collecting loaner bikes.

I read on the internets that Elon Musk has bought everything, and, Cycle Gear, and is making riding a requirement of employment.

I think I saw that somewhere. Infomiswords maybe? Maybe it was in my dream last night. Same thing.
