AMA NEW SCHEDULE

oh, quite the teaser, aren't we?

Sears Point
Miller
Fontana [should've been down I-10 in Ontario !]

Thanks for the link Robert! Stoked for this event…it's gonna be something special for sure! Next up: getting the rest of the accoutrements of the event lined up! The AFM board worked hard on this one!

:applause :hail

Lol, late to the party aren't I?

Seriously, great job Berto and the entire AFM BoD for making this happen.

That said, 2 extra 18 lap races? Schedule is gonna be *tight*.

I'll post here what I posted in the other threads to answer you question Aaron:

We've ironed most of the details out. We did that before the contract was signed with JU. Sonoma has been extremely gracious in helping us make this happen, which includes a host of logistics and resource allocations. Sonoma rocks! What kind of things are we talking about?

Overnight camping, special events and appearances, vendors and manufacturer involvement, etc. We're aiming for an AMA level event from the glory years of 2005 or so. It takes ALL OF YOU to make it happen though…so then, what kind of things do people want to see at this event? Those in charge will be reading...

Oh shit! That's freakin' awesome!

I'll definitely be there racing. :thumbup (thank $diety I'm a novice! Gives me an excuse for why the pros lap my ass. :laughing)

Don't get me wrong Berto... I'm not really worried about it. Yeah, there are some things that will be a bit different, but I think we all understand that the value of having them race under the AFM banner to the AFM and the west coast sportbike community at large.

That said, it's probably important to level-set so everyone knows in advance that things will be different and what to expect. But let's have fun at Buttonwillow first before we start worrying about other rounds. :thumbup

Thanks Aaron, totally agree…one thing I know for sure: wait lists, if they develop, will take riders with points first. IOW, MAKE SURE TO RACE BUTTONWILLOW and get class points!

mebbe Worm'll bring Heather! [watch episode 4 of "SBFamily" for bikini action]

We'd love to SEE the event live, as in pro broadcast with at least 14 or so cameras. Streaming free for people at the track and streaming for a fee for people on their couch at home. I'm sure between JU & you something great can be worked out :thumbup

oh, answering your request is EZ:

since this is an AFM event where AMA Pro Superbikes will be featured, I request an assemblage of mid-70s to early-80s AMA Superbike machines, most of which were developed as AFM 750 or Open Production mounts

Isn't that what the AHRMA event the couple days before is for?

no, any earlier contests are for the vintage racers to compete on their older bikes

I'm requesting a display - bikes, leathers, memorabilia, the riders themselves

this Golden Oldies approach has been hugely successful for the past 3 years at Bob Bellino's events, The Sacramento Mile & The Santa Rosa Mile

That is definitely part of the AHRMA event a couple days before is for. Unfortunately there are only a few bikes in that class, although there is still more vintage kit that you can shake a hand-shift lever at.

another EBR 1190RS in AMA Pro SBK:

Cory West to ride AMSOIL/Hero EBR in 2014 AMA Pro Superbike Championship

".....Said EBR founder Erik Buell, "EBR, Hero and AMSOIL have already committed to race our American superbikes in WSBK, and partnered with Pegram Racing to field an EBR 1190 in the Foremost Insurance livery for AMA Superbike racing.

But we were really hoping to continue the tradition of an AMSOIL/Hero EBR bike on the grid. With the additional support of Shorai, K&L and Foremost, we have been able to put that together as well. The team will be pitted along with the Pegram Racing Foremost entry, and we think Cory and Larry will be excellent partners in putting on great performances with EBR 1190s in 2014
....."

backstory - in late 2008, Cory's unavailability opened the door for Danny Eslick to jump on the earlier Buell 1125r & win the 2009 Daytona SB 'ship

The Dayton 200 TV situation is resolved in favor of streaming -

both Flat Track & Road Racing have a new deal & it's online only:

FansChoice.tv will be the official home for live streaming coverage of AMA Pro Road Racing and AMA Pro Flat Track events in 2014.

The site will also provide coverage of IMSA's development and single-make series, and NASCAR's touring and weekly series.

Complete details about FansChoice.tv will be released in the coming days.
