BARF Militia

I need to light a fire under my ass and set up my presses on the new bench. I could buy the riser for my LnL AP from Inline Fab for 80 bucks, or I could obviously make my own at the shop. Right now I feel too cheap to buy it and too lazy to make it.
The Turret press has no excuses. I need to bolt it down.
 
So any militia peeps out there keeping an eye on the new ATF proposal for pistols with braces? Sounds like fun times ahead.

Also how about that raid on Polymer80 and subsequent visits people are getting?
 
To be honest, neither of these bother me.

I always found the "pistol braces" shady. Heck, I always found the idea of the AR-15 "pistol" shady. They sure look and operate like SBRs to me.

And the pistol kits don't bother me either. The distance from that lower, with all of the parts, and a fully operational pistol is pretty thin.

But then, I'm a "spirit of the law" person, vs letter of the law person. It annoyed me to see piles of "25 rouns magazine 'repair' kits" at gun shows.

Just because I don't like a law doesn't mean I can't respect that we have them and need to abide by them.

None of these things are "tyranny".
 
The repair kits are for those of us who previously owned, or bought during "Freedom Week."
How else do we repair our legally purchased magazines?

All of those magazine kits should have had a big "wink" sticker on them, or a BARF salute.

Imagine a hose going out on your air conditioner and the "repair kit" just so happens to include the compressor, controller, fan, tank, motor, housing, etc.

Or, God forbid, during prohibition some wineries may have sold compressed bricks of grapes along with instructions on how to make wine.

For me, the thing that bothers me is the law around these items didn't change, so why are they are problem? From my understanding, there was a ruling by the ATF on what "brace" was, and how it differed from a "stock". Same for "unfinished lowers" or "80%" kits. With those rulings certain products were manufactured and then purchased. I don't like that a new "ruling" can invalidate all the decisions made prior to it, and put companies and individuals in legal jeopardy.

I had a response to this segment, but feel it leans more towards political instead of legal, so I'll leave those thoughts out of this thread.

The two examples of braces and unfinished lowers may not be tyranny, but I do think we shouldn't tolerate an unstable, dictate via policy-vs.-law environment that breeds uncertainty for everyone that IS trying to abide by the laws.

@the mods; please let me know if this violates the political guidelines of the forum, I tried to keep it to the legal aspects of the topic but will edit any part you feel strays into political territory.
 
We should be able to own any guns that police own for the exact same reasons.

I should be able to choose what barrel length I want. 16” ok, but 14.5” needs “permission” and a 200$ fee and registration is idiotic.
 
Maybe we can hope that since we can't control the weapons with pistol grips, and are blind due to the lack of flash suppressors, all the folks making these stupid laws will get hit by stray rounds?
 
I am of the mind that braces were fine until people started making them more like stocks to see what they can get away with and then you have all the rubes on YouTube posting videos of them shouldering their pistols so now the ATF is like WTF we gave you an inch and now you took the mile so register that shit or get rid of it. This is why we can't have nice things.

I am not all on board about the whole NFA thing but it is what it is and we have to abide by it. I say this as someone who has paid the taxes for NFA items.
 
Not sure why everyone is bent about those "braces" no one EVER puts them on their forearm the way their intended to be used lol. Every video I have seen on YT they are shouldered as a standard stock would be. It was bound to happen.

I have some questions about buying 9mm ammo target grade and rock island armory 22 tcm armscore for my neighbor. Does any one in this thread know anything
about these items? Hopefully I won't be placed on government watch list for mentioning this on da BARF!
