BARF Militia

Anyone going out to the CMP match this Saturday? I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it, 'cause we might be going out to Fresno for the weekend.

If I wind up in Fresno, I'll just shoot some yaks or something.

Went shooting with hoax today. Met a Marine with an off-list AR, Stag-15 on what look to be a DPMS upper, trying to sight in his scope on the 50 yd line. Wasnt working for him.

Justyn and I had fun shooting his 10/22 and my SKS and M500. Rifled slugs rule. We also decided that the distance an SKS tosses a spent case is impressive.

Like a dumbass, I forgot my CZ75 at home, so I didn't get to shoot it, but I tossed two mags of 9 and a couple wheels of 357 downrange before we got bored and left, minutes before it started raining. :teeth Not a bad rainy Sunday

Totally awesome we missed all the rain. The SKS was awesome to shoot and the stripper clips were way easier to load then I expected. I don't know if it's supposed to eject the spent brass 12 ft up in the air. Some of them were landing in the shooting booth four places down.

I can't believe how hard the rifled slugs kicked. Webber was shooting off the first load, when it was empty I heard him say "Oh thank God". :laughing

After that, all I really wanted to shoot was the 10/22 :p It's a little sore, but not bad. I even did some pushups last night :laughing

CowtownBallin on calguns, USGI AR mag in the avatar :teeth

Yeah, I picked up two Lauer LCW-15s from Rob Blank in Milpitas in Group Buy #3. :banana

But I'm more into handguns than rifles, so the lowers are just sitting there. My AK is almost done though, I just need to find someone to put in factory rivets in for me

You get lowers? milpitas?

Yup. Got Fultons in december. Waiting for my Beowulf upper. :(

On a happy note, I pick up my Mosin tomorrow....

Yeah I've yet to order my upper and such.
A buddy of mine took his to chabot a couple weeks ago and didn't get much trouble from the rangemasters about the bolt on fixed mag.
Just kinda sucks those things aren't going to get listed until at least after the election

I was talking to ArtherD (dude who got the first JP and organized the first N.California buys) while he was talking to the lawyer we've got talking to lokyer and the ATF and the consensus seems to be that without legislative action they can't just make the lowers a new class of AW (like their info bulletin that was posted a couple weeks ago on the DOJ website.) and they can't just not add them because the ban stimpulates "The AG SHALL update the list" not the AG can or may or whatever. So it seems like a matter of time because I would doubt they can wait the couple years it would take to get a new AW ban through. So yeah I've got 3 stags and I'll build em up as soon as i can.

I shot a Beowulf over the weekend. Man, that thing is stout.

Speaking of stout, that Moisin doesn't tickle the shoulder either.

Have fun with those. :)

Hopefully I can shoot both left handed. I just found out I have a rotator cuff injury, (possibly requiring surgery), on my Oktoberfest shoulder.

There is a 'Don't ask, Don't tell' policy here right:confused :twofinger

I am so fighting the urge to use that as my sig....

:laughing

Yeah.

I read that back in December when I heard about the "offlists". I figgured it was old news to everyone. Someone brought it back up in calguns a few days ago.

They had a link to the courtdates, as well.....

Lemme see.....

GotIt

What I have found more interesting lately, is the BATF.

Tha BATF says that if you make "any substantive changes to a firearm," you are manufacturing a firearm. The BATF is supposedly busting people for that.

The FFL that is selling the Bushmaster Ca. legal rifles sends the lowers to a gunsmith. I don't think he has a manufacturers license.

http://www.californialegalbushmaster.com/

He has CADOJ approval......

So, the DOJ is knowingly allowing a federal crime to occur.....

:p
