BARF Militia

Sweet blades, people. Clearly I need to do some more research on the assisted-openers.

I have a waved Endura 4 as my designated beater, and it's got battle scars (chopping through thin-gauge steel tabs, yay) that an hour with a DMT coarse benchstone didn't entirely cure.

I think it makes an awesome general purpose knife -- wave for easy deployment, light yet sufficiently sturdy, inexpensive, VG-10, four-position clip (righty, lefty, tip-up or tip-down). The FRN scale material is cheap and cheap-feeling compared the magnificence that is G10, but it's grippy and tough and helps keep the cost down. Very practical.

If you want to borrow mine, I'll drag my ass down to a SF Wednesday meet which I've been meaning to do for half a year now.

I think my default recommendation would be for the Delica/Endura family or the Griptilian family as good-yet-inexpensive practical blades.

AB2062 (ammo registration bill) was taken out of suspense yesterday and is scheduled for vote on Thursday (5/22). If this passes, you will be allowed to purchase ONLY 50 ROUNDS OF AMMO A MONTH, unless you apply for a Ammo Manufacturer's Permit. Keep in mind that you cannot get the permit unless you hold a valid business license in your county (which means even more fees, taxes, and paperwork).

BILL NUMBER : A.B. No. 2062
AUTHOR : De Leon
TOPIC : Ammunition.

TYPE OF BILL :
Active
Non-Urgency
Non-Appropriations
Majority Vote Required
State-Mandated Local Program
Fiscal
Non-Tax Levy

BILL HISTORY
2008
May 23 From committee: Amend, and do pass as amended. (Ayes 10. Noes 5.)(May 22). Read second time and amended. Ordered returned to second reading.

I think that means they amended it and then passed it, then changed it again, and then changed it back. They crossed out a whole bunch, but the core limits of 50 rounds per month and all the other annoying stuff is still there.

Good time at the range today. I brought the P7, but willit didn't show, and I didn't see Nemo if she was there, so didn't get to try out the PM9. But still, it was a good day at the range. :troy

Damn, uhmeebuh. . .you're buyin' 'em like they're going out of style! :laughing

I picked up a new Benchmade today.

Good seeing you today Mike.

Why didn't I get to try out the P7? :p

I thought the weather was perfect today. Nice and cool and scary enough to keep the crowds away. :thumbup

Sorry. I was in Sac today at a house warming party. :(

The Cabelas in Utah was awesome. I could spent a ton of money in there without even thinking.

Just before I got on the plane today we went out to blm land and blew up all kinds of things. The Garand sounds great in the valleys with the report of the round echoing forever.

I also caught 3 trout yesterday barely trying considering I had ingested more than my share of beers. :laughing

OMG, I splurged and ordered a Spyderco Street Beat (Fred Perrin) and a couple Boker Subclaws. The subclaws will come in handy fending off the wife when she finds out.

I have a couple of Boker Subcoms and they're great little knives. I'm sure you'll be happy with yours. :)

It's not bad. The one thing that I may change (depending on cost) is to anodize the grips/case. It's aluminum and has that old school chalkboard feel to it.

Amen to that, brother!! It's like a museum packed with awesome merchandise!

Not to mention the cafe- I had a great bison sandwich and my buddy had wild boar.
Also available was elk, ostrich and some other stuff I'm forgetting.

Throw in the gun rooms (s), giant fish tank and the museum of Western wildlife and it's a destination spot!!

:laughing

Said to me just moments ago:

"....a .22? Are you gay? Are you going to use that for anal sodomy on your boyfriend?"

and

"What caused your flinch? Did your boyfriend slap you?"
- Brandon's Lady Friend

If having a .22 makes me gay, than I'm George Michael :teeth
