Same deal with my PM9. DAO simplifies things, I suppose...someday I'll make it to the Range for a teeny gun shoot-off. What about the evening of Thursday July 3rd?

DROSed my Sig P6 at City Arms yesterday...and the guy behind the counter said, "young lady, do you like knives?"

Why yes, yes I do.

They have some great stuff at City Arms--fancy Japanese damascus steel folders, Benchmades, Spydercos, etc. for good prices. If they had something with a small (under 3") blade and a reversible clip (I'm a lefty) they would have gotten me.

Maybe, unless you go to the shoot-n-que on the 5th. Actually, if we do the 3rd, we might be able to convince meebles to come up with his lil gun.

That's my preferred safety :cool

Whatever, I just won't use all the manual garbage. I'm likin' the whole Taurus lifetime warranty deal :teeth

The operator is definitely the most important safety. It's just strange to me right now. I'd be in the same boat with an airweight, though.

oh, best part about it..the Taurus is NIB, cost me $318 shipped, +DROS (~$60) :banana That's a cheap modern .45!

I just ordered rosewood grips for my CZ75...I'm on a roll :laughing

next:
Fobus HK1 paddle holster for Taurus
Fobus mag/cuff combo paddle holster
S&W M104 cuffs :cool you can never have too many handcuffs :laughing

I might go to the shoot n' que, but it's the GF's birthday weekend, and she may be wanting to party instead. On the other hand, it would be a chance to shoot her new G19.
If the 3rd works, Targetmasters would be the best spot for me...

Birthday partying happens after 7pm. The shoot-n-que happens from 10a to 4pm. I see no conflict. :cool

Fobus is kinda meh. CompTac or BladeTech, compared to Fobus, is made of pure win. IMHO.

You people and targetmasters. :x

Aren't you here in America, (East Bay)?

Sure, Oakland is pretty much one big shooting range.

Looks like I can go to the Chabot Shoot n Que, so I'll bring meat and pistols.

Anyone got any 7.62 x 39 ammo they are willing to sell?

Please see this post

Thanks all!

Question to you, gun nutz.:twofinger

1951 Russian SKS, seems like in pretty good condition, $550+tax+reg. Is that a good price?

Thanks.

Prices on fun toys are insane here, Big 5 wants 999.95 for a beat up surplus M1 Carbine, I'll be picking one up in Texas tyvm.

In '96 I lived in Phoenix, You could buy an SKS for around 150.00 depending on condition, they are physically too small for me(feel like toys), My Super Redhawk kept me occupied though.

Miran, can you tell me a bit more. Why it is better?

Yugoslavia had a limited manufacturing capacity, so everything they made had to be robust. Instead of the Russian-spec 2mm receiver walls, you get 3mm walls. The way they made the barrels was different, but I forget how..one way is to drill a round bar to create the barrel, the other way is to roll a sheet of steel to create the barrel. Zastava's way was said to be better. You could rapid-fire 60rds and grab the rifle by the barrel. Try that with a Romanian, Albanian, or some other rifle and you'd have a barrel stuck to your hand. So, better materials, better manufacturing process, no flimsy mass-produced feel.

I mean, you might go for the Russian SKS for historical or other reasons, and they're getting quite rare so I wouldn't blame you..but if you're just looking for the best rifle, the Yugo is your choice.
