Ratters just picked up a brick at Wallmart for me and it was close to $20. Is the stuff you are quoting lead or fmj?
ps// :rolleyes back at 'ya love. :teeth

What's wrong with Federal 22lr? They are like $12 for 525.
They give me nice sub inch groups at 50yrd.:teeth

It was $15 for 550 of the Remmington. I have some of the Federal but it doesn't cycle in one of my guns too well. Same with the Winchester. I think the Fed and Win were $13 a brick. The Remmy was printing pretty good out of my 10/22 at 50yrds on Sat.

How do you like the trigger on that thing? My brother-in-law has a 9mm Millenium, and the trigger feels like a long, heavy double-action pull, and then the trigger stops but the gun doesn't go off, until you pull even harder to release the sear.

My sister-in-law has one, too, and also hates the trigger.

OK here we go. I picked up this MARLIN 917VSF for $289 OTD at Cabelas in Washington. no 10day waiting crap and not a dime of Tax, it pay's to be an Oregon Resident!!
I also picked up 800rds of .17hmr ammo from BI-Mart in Oregon for $8.99 a box, Took everything they had left.

Yeah, I was originally looking at a CZ453 but think I might go the Savage route to save some cash. Nice rifle and a sweet deal, esp. on the ammo, that chit is expensive here. :thumbup

'Guns in the hands of good people'
A testament to Second Amendment rights

June 28, 2008, was a defining moment in my life. It was the day I shot and killed a man in the defense of my life and the lives of others. We all have defining moments. They might not be as tragic as taking another man's life, but they are events that change the way we look at things -- or even, perhaps, how we live our lives.

Before that muggy Saturday evening in June, I would have said my defining moments were many: graduating from high school; enlisting in the Army; getting married; having children; getting run over by a tow truck; and especially, meeting my fiancée, Maria. All of these events, and more, have happened in my life and changed me.
* * *
On June 28, only two days after the Supreme Court announced its 5-4 ruling that Washington, D.C., citizens have the right to bear arms under the Second Amendment to the Constitution, I found myself standing in a pool of blood in York, from a man I had just shot. It was not my intent that evening to test the Second Amendment or kill somebody, but events unfolded to make it necessary for me to draw my weapon to defend myself and others.

FOR THE REST OF THE STORY:

that is when I fired my first shot into his left thigh. It didn't stop him from coming at me. He grabbed my shirt, ripped off the top button and grabbed my right arm. That's when I shot him the second time point-blank into his thigh.
I stopped reading after that paragraph.

People who can't/won't shoot the vitals shouldn't carry guns. Instead of having his button ripped off his shirt he could have had his gun taken from him and innocent people could have been shot with it.

+1
If you not ready to go all the way, you are already lost. If you pull the gun out you should be ready to kill.\
The BG doesn't care about mine well being, why should I care about his?

Big speculative posturing, guys. I like to think I'd go for center mass, myself, but I'm not in Fentiman's shoes. Fact is, he did use his gun to kill in an attempt to protect his own life and those of others, and I think he did well. Plus, in the possible ensuing civil lawsuit, he'll be in a better legal position by firing shots to the legs. Besides, they were fatal enough--and perhaps it was just his mediocre aim under severe pressure, not a conscious decision to avoid center mass.

Mediocre aim twice, the second time from point blank. Sounds like somebody who wanted to carry a gun but didn't want to face the possibility of killing somebody with it.

Mortally wounding an attacker doesn't help you if, while he bleeds to death, he takes your gun and beats you to death with it. Michael Platt killed two FBI agents and wounded five more while mortally wounded.
