So resident trap/skeet/clay experts: What is a good entry level competition shotgun?

Do you have to use an over/under?

RRA Flat-top scope mounts

Recommendations for scope mounts for my 20" RRA upper? I have a NM sight assembly on order and want to play with a scope until they arrive. I don't need quick-release mounts; I'm more interested in getting the height correct with some good solid mounts. I'll be mounting a Leupold 4 x 12 that's been gathering dust.

You can get a competition Beretta semi for $1800-2000. That'd be the way I'd go, softer shooting so you can shoot more.

The Remingtons are a bit cheaper (~1600) but I much prefer the feel of the Beretta. YMMV. And make sure to get the stock fitted to you. I know there's a guy at the Martinez Gun Club who does it. There should be some guy in your area. They mostly just tweak the stock to allow a more natural alignment.

The 3 gun Remmingtons are nice, but I already have the Benelli M1 for that role.

Anyone ever shoot trap at Livermore? I like shooting at Chabot and chatting with John, but $9 a round is a little excessive. How crowded does Livermore get on the weekends?

Set a time, I'm in. :thumbup

Man, I finally got around to adjusting the trigger on my LTR. Holy fuck why the hell did I not do this five years ago. The trigger is just f-in awesome now.

FYI Sunnyvale Rod and Gun Club is also open on Tuesday nights until 9:00 p.m. There's usually at least two trap houses running, sometimes three. Rifle and pistol ranges are open also. Anybody going to be up there tonight?

So, if I know a cop. Can they buy guns off the list, then transfer them to me? Legally?

Yes. But depends on his department. Might require a letter from his Chief or commander to import guns. Said commander might be annoyed if he submits requests three times a quarter and then keeps selling the guns

So, can they just walk in to a store and place the order?

Said cop is retired, and in the immediate family btw.

I want a Taurus OSS and a Kimber Desert Warrior and an HK45.

Yes, I would get them all at the same time. :X

i dont think i can afford the M1A after all the school books and all.....so aiming my sights at pistols....:teeth
