It's more than an hour's drive for you, but Bullseye in San Rafael has several rental range pistols, including a Sig P226 9mm. Might not have DAK though. A few months ago Bullseye listed on Calguns a Sig P226 Elite 9mm for PPT. Supposedly a cop bought it new and never fired it. I thought about getting it but decided I'd rather get a Sig .40 instead. Don't know if it's still on sale consignment. It's a beautiful pistol.

Inkman and I are supposed to head over there sometime soon. When we've decided on a day/night and time, and if it's all right with him, you're welcome to join us.

Thanks for the info and the invite! Google sez Bullseye is an hour and five from me, but the route looks scary (880 and 580) :( Unfortunately, school will also complicate things for me as I have classes in the evenings for the next 10 weeks. Let me know what's up.

I got my 226 @ Irvington Arms as a factory refurb for $575. The thing looked practically brand new. I've got a couple thousand rounds through it now with no problems to speak of. It's also easy to strip and clean which is also nice.

I really liked the 92fs as well so you might want to revisit one that isn't all clapped out. They are certainly heavier but the one I handled felt nice in the hand and shot very well.

NICE... $575 for that gun is a steal. The Beretta 92 is definitely back on my rental list. I guess it'll be time for more research soon :teeth

What red dot are you using? Been thinking of adding one to my Mk III, but can't decide on one.

It is cheap, but works well. It came with the gun (bought gun used). Love it.:thumbup

Saiga was $385 in September. $599 on the last show in SJ.:thumbdown
holy shit. i havnt actually looked at the prices lately, back in the day they were super cheap, i heard something about them not importing to CA is that the reason?

Shit. We let Mike in here, we'll let anyone in! :sniper :troy

Ahaha, j.k Mike! :twofinger

i dont know what this means but i assume its bad. just cuz i dont have a gun right now doesnt mean i cant shoot :twofinger

You live in Loomis and dont own a gun:( What is this???:laughing

yeah yer telling me right? im actually embarrassed to live in placer county and not own a gun, but im a liberal so i get a pass for under a year right? im buying guns next year no matter what, aside from my govt issue ones that is. :thumbup

:laughing ahaha fuggers...well..hopefully soon...after i take care of TWO tickets....i got lit up again driving my cage...SJPD must be bored these days...

:(

have been and trying to...isnt my fault they deemed my vehicle "illegal"...

ehh...

indeed....:(

he said my exhaust was too loud...even though its a low tone and passes smog...

its about as quiet as this...maybe even a tad bit lower...and i wasnt even speeding

Sounds like a good lesson on personal responsibility for Mike. He knew when he bought said vehicles there was a chance he could get hassles by 'the man' but purchased them anyway. He gets popped and now has to deal with the repercussions. In this case it means delaying the purchase of a gun indefinitely.

indeed....still...modding cars (legally mind you...i know the laws and repercussions of said hobby) is a hobby...same with shooting and photography and whatnot...but i wouldnt say delaying the purchase indefinitely...

i knew the situation was going to go down hill (when i got pulled over) when he started to yell at me to put out my stoge...*yes...yelled...not even asked mind you*

still...im a law-abiding citizen...people just define the laws their way

struggling here... can anyone talk me out of picking up a Beretta 84FS?

I was looking for a .380 and I think I might be in love... it's like a little brother to the 92FS, which I'm a big fan of.

If you want to be talked out of buying a gun, PM Mikee.

Everyone else here will say go for it! I like the Cheetahs. I passed on one a while back, though, because it had a magazine safety (wouldn't fire with the magazine removed) and that's a deal-breaker for me.

I noticed the mag safety. It was kinda odd, since the 92fs (to my recollection) didn't have one. Also kinda weird that it costs more than it's big bro by about $30.

I take it you have never broke a 92? of all the 92's we had at my last unit every single one had Locking Block Failures at or around 2500 rds -5000rds, which can be a RPITA when they break the Frame and slide at the same time locking it together:thumbdown
and if you have the Gay ass, Nylon recoil guide rod replace it ASAP, , also take a look at your locking block, if the wings do not have relief cuts like half moons into the inner part get a updated replacement with the relief cuts, they don't fail as often but still fail.
