Your parent can buy a handgun, and then transfer it to you. Intra-familial handgun transfer...one form +$19. ;)

DOUBLE CHECK THIS - I think in your age range you would have to buy either:
1) an already built, complete AR or
2) A fully assembled lower (as opposed to a striped lower)
Did I mention to double check what I'm saying there? :)

Oh, and as far as "doesn't want to go through a ton of guns" - don't kid yourself, this is a life-long expensive habit you are about to start. Just accept it! :laughing

I ordered a Green Mountain .920 bull barrel and Yukon stock for the 10/22 today. Looking forward to those bits arriving soon. :teeth

Since we're showing stuff.......

Finally ordered a Dillon 550B tonite. I seriously think i put over 1000 .45 rds down the pipe the last two days. The cost savings for ammo are tremendous, but i'll likely just shoot even more now. The ammo cost savings isn't even the biggest thing. It's the accuracy difference at 25 yds shooting lead compared to jacketed new ammo.

Now i just need to find a spider free place to mount it.
