Nice, I'll take another look at the maps and figure out where those are. :thumbup

Does anyone else think that downloadable content has gotten way out of hand? I feel like games are shipping with half as much content as they used to.

It's smart business. Let's face it, a game is going to be $59.99 on release. That is almost engraved in stone. But the publisher would like to get a lot more than that. Pricing the game at $119.99 and throwing in everything would scare a huge chunk of the buyers off and the game would be a flop.

So MW3 has sold over 20 million copies as of right now I believe. Compare that to maybe 1 million (if that) paid Elite subscriptions. That tells them right there that not many people want to take the hit all at once.

Then we do the DLC packs. $15 each. That gets a lot more people in. Fifteen bucks? Meh, that's not so bad to keep the game fresh. Sure I'll do it. And then they do it a couple more times till their next full title release to keep the game fresh for people.

In the end, you can either take the hit in the beginning, or "make payments" over the following months. Either way, MW3 is a $110-120 game.

And there's the folks that buy just the $59.99 game and don't buy anything else. Sure you miss out on new maps and modes, but if you weren't jonesing so bad for fresh content that you weren't willing to pay anymore, then their particular taste of crack didn't get you addicted enough.

But make no mistake the DLC business model works well for them, so it ain't going anywhere for awhile.

Ain't like the old days anymore where you got everything they made right up front. Unless the game was blatantly broken, there would never be any patch. And after maybe 6-9 months, there was an "expansion pack" that was damn near 1/2 of a complete new game that came out.

I'm not saying its bad business, it's just frustrating. Like the In Shape game my wife and I use (btw Freak, I'm kickin your butt) had dlc, even if you buy a bundle for 560 points, you still don't get all the related exercises. It's driven by greed, and they wonder why people pirate stuff.

Speaking of DLC...

Is that it for Forza? The only new thing this month was a Laguna Seca challenge with a bone stock Dodge Challenger.

No car pack? No more other monthly challenges?

Was kinda hoping they'd drop the 2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca. Or perhaps the 2012 Camaro ZL1.

It seems like new car packs (I'm glad I bought the season pass) come out on the 7th of each month. I'm not particularly exited about this one.

You see these people at the top of the leaderboards on level 133 who played for 4.5 hours... I don't want to be a hater but do you think there's any chance in hell they did that legitimately, without an exploit?

You think there are tougher troops than the armored up mini-jugs with the FADs? Those guys can take some hits.

I'll be on tomorrow for Seatown challenge. Spent a few hours pounding some nub ass with my newly acquired MP7.

Supposedly a new game mode drops tomorrow. So along with Drop Zone, Infected will now be something you can play in public lobbies.
