BARFTRON HOMEBASE

Yeah, I had a fully kitted character and almost half a dozen cache points. They don't last long against script kiddies with player tracking and teleport hacks.

The private servers just get boring after a certain point, no spice of danger with little to no bandits.

I'm in a wait and see about the standalone-- all I know is that Dayz as it stands now is unplayable. The game (and arma by extension) has about as much security as a wet paper bag.

VTOL Warship....13 kills in a row. Think it's the first time I ever got it in a care package, moar plz!

Hey can the K9 or Swarm arrive in a care package? I've never had either of those.

Yes. I've gotten pretty much every kill streak in the game at one point or another through care packages, but then, I usually run UAV > Hunter Killer > Care package. Once I get the first one I can rinse/repeat/cycle through them constantly throughout the match.

Yup... Whut he said. Create a class with Engineer to increase your chances. I got two escort drones and a stealth chopper earlier today.

So I'm trying to hook up the new headphones with my elite. I got the adapter cable that has the optical cable and had to pop off the adapter housing to fit both the adapter and the HDMI cable.

Video and audio are going out the HDMI port, but the optical port isn't working. There is no sound coming out. On the front of the x41 base I don't get the optical activity light. I could find a setting in the Xbox control panel to send audio out the optical port

What am I missing?

I just looked with mine. Though I have the newer "slim" 360.

System settings->console settings->audio->digital output

There it gives me three choices:

Digital stereo
Digital 5.1
Digital with WMA

I swear that was a bit different on my old 360. But I set it to Digital 5.1 and all is good for me.

I'm half tempted to get one that has a native optical port. This one is about 4 years old. But I know the new one is coming out this Xmas.

I think I will go with xbox. I dont know why i have the loyalty but I guess we really have to see what the hardware is.

Pretty much this is my sentiment.

With as much frustration as Winblows has caused me in my lifetime, I definitely feel no loyalty to Microsoft as a brand.

I don't care about Halo.

But Forza seems to be exclusive to Xbox and looks like Forza 4 would up being better than Gran Turismo which is PS3 exclusive. So the next Forza might be a reason to sway towards the next Xbox.

Chances are I will end up with both, but the Xbox will be had first.

No, my optical port does not light up. The adapter I have has the RCA jacks as well. Do they need to be plugged into the tv as well?

Well when you get tired of this....

BARFtron will be waiting for you.

I actually wouldn't mind them always being online. There probably is a few things that are more frustrating, but this ranks pretty high...

Turn on Xbox and ready to just veg out and game. But oh, there's an update that must be applied or some DLC I can download now. Must wait for that to happen before I can play my game. Even with my 20mbs connection, some of those big updates for games like BF3 take a long time.

So if a console is always online, maybe the stupid thing can download all patches or DLC I'm entitled to in the wee hours of the night or while I'm at work so the shot is ready to go and play at all times.

I think for the majority of people, applications, and situations, `always-connected-to-the-internet` is not a big issue. There are probably some good advantages to having such a system as Rob mentioned above. However, principle speaking, I don't like it. Why do I have to be connected to the internet to play single player games? Similar to the issues people were having earlier last year with Diablo 3 single player.
