BARFTRON HOMEBASE

I'm going with BF4 for the PC.

Not gonna enjoy trying to fly with mouse and keyboard. I've had to fly planes and choppers with DayZ with the mouse. No like. No like one bit.

Yup. It's been a rough ride. Especially in a 64 player map, I don't get very far before a million stingers come flying my way.

Two alternatives I can think of are joystick and xbox controller. Don't quote me on the latter, but if I have some time, I'll try to test one out and see if it works.

I've gotten to be a pretty decent pilot in both the choppers and jets with the old 360 controller. From my Counterstrike days, I was never really spectacular doing the FPS thing with keyboard and mouse. So maybe I'll add a controller to my PC build and be some kind of hybrid PC/console guy.

4770k or FX9590 build?

Wat? Did you change teams?

In the process of temporarily changing back you could say. I started off on Xbox live on the original Xbox, went to the PS3, and now back to the 360 for a bit. New roommate has a 360 I didn't buy one but figured I could use a break from the PS3. I'm maxed out on pretty much everything.

4770k, hands down. AMDs specs hardly look better than Intel's; at double the price, definitely not worth it.

Figured you might want to do this in your future build too:

For PC controller, I use a ps3 controller pluged in with USB and the DS3 tool. works perfect. DS3 can also trick computer into thinking its an XBOX360 controller as well, as certain PC games are designed with 360 controller in mind

Holy shit. I just saw the prices for those new AMD chips. WTF! When did AMD become the really expensive one?

Welp. I guess that decided that. 4770k it is. $340 is practically nothing compared to $900 for the 9590. And the Haswell doesn't even need half the wattage to run either so I'll be able to get away with keeping my power supply.

What's a good Z87 mobo for that new Haswell? Probably gonna go with the new Corsair 540 Air case

So who's gonna be getting a PS4 with GTA5? :teeth BARFtron multiplayer?!

Doing it. Absolutely doing it.

GTA5, CoD, Gran Turismo, and The Division. That's about all I envision I want a console for.

Get one of those $3 silicone skins for the controller. I have no idea why it took me so long to buy those but god damn do I love having them now. An easy fix for the tip of the sticks is to put a couple of those little circular sticky things you put on the bottom of speakers for non-slip. Get the flattest ones you can find, score them with a knife and stick em on.

Started fucking around with random challenges (flash an enemy and finish with knife and whatnot) - result:
