So what's the deal with "pulsing" an enemy anyways? What are the benefits of doing so.

And what skills/ability do you run for dark zone shenanigans?

Highlights:


- Named NPCs will no longer respawn after being killed in the Open World. This will prevent situations where players were able to kill a same named NPC over and over again.
- Players can now heal other neutral players in the Dark zone, by using First Aid and Support Station skills
- Players are now able to fast travel to Dark Zone checkpoints, but only when coming from outside the Dark Zone
- Players killed in the Dark Zone will lose less Dark Zone Funds and Experience (Rogue and non-Rogue)
- Dark Zone Funds and Experience rewards for surviving Rogue status have been improved
- Dark Zone Funds and Experience rewards for killing Rogue agents have been improved
- Phoenix Credits drop have been increased on lvl 31 and 32 enemies in the Dark Zone:Lvl 30: 1-3 Phoenix CreditsLvl 31: 2-4 Phoenix CreditsLvl 32: 3-5 Phoenix Credits

Makes them visible to your teammates (you can see the wireframes) plus it adds Critical Chance and Critical Damage (can be increased with gear) so it can add a pretty good amount of damage.

Our fire teams usually run 2 pulses (1 Recon for loot/range, 1 Tactical for increased damage). Recon pulses as much as possible to scan for hostiles and loot, the Tactical pulses just before engagement to up our damage. We also run two medics, for two reviving support stations. Then the other slots are used for turrets and seeker mines. We're starting to run Recovery Link (heals and revive) ant Tactical Link (buff damage + crit chance) now that some of us are fully upgrading the Medical and Tech wings.
 
the last one about chests in the dark zone dropping better stuff is good news. i hate spending hours and hours grinding only to come out of the DZ with a ton of blue garbage, a handful of purple and maaaybe one gold piece of gear, if you're lucky
 
Guys, how do I use the firearms mods, electronics mods, etc. I have so many built up, but I don't know how to use them.
 
On xbox, you push the X button to bring up the mods menu for each individual weapon or gear. Not every piece of gear has a mod slot. I don't know what the corresponding key is on PC, I'm a peasant.
 
Not every piece of gear has a "mod slot". If it does, there will be a shadowed box in the lower left corner, the "mod" option will be lit up when you highlight the gear and the mod slot will be listed in the items attributes.

If you look at my character pic you can see the mod slots on my gear, some have green, blue and purple mods equipped. It's more common the higher rated your gear is.
 
Doesn't have to be purple. I have had blue gear with mod slots. You can often get mod slots by recalibrating gear in the tech wing

It was hilarious because we had random people swapping out their gear for the police helmet and white jackets and rolling with us. Everybody was being cool and working together. We only had 5 guys in the party, but at one point we had 9-man fire team. It made the Subway assaults quite hilarious.
 
Well, with higher drop rates and lower rogue penalties, it's now almost impossible to lone wolf the dark zone. Getting jumped at every extraction zone, every time.
 
yup. that last patch completely changed the complexion of the dark zone. impossible w/o a fireteam
