Batman v. Superman?

No not at all they did take certain elements and visuals but it isn't a direct adaptation. There are scenes in the movie that you could match up to panels in the graphic novel. I had to tip my hat to Snyder on that one because DKR is IMO the best Graphic Novel ever lol.

I enjoyed it! Its the opposite of Deadpool in regards to tone. I can't wait for Civil War now! :)

Its a great time to be a comic nerd :nerd

It's really weird; I've read the comics but I haven't really gotten into the TV/Movie side of things. Still waffling on whether I'll see Deadpool (used to read until ~4-5 years ago; didn't like the past couple of creative teams and dropped it), haven't seen any of the Superman flicks or even Watchmen.

Controversial DKR opinion: I believe Superman threw that fight at the end.

Deadpool is very good. The writing team hit a home run, it's non-stop jokes from beginning to end. Even the opening credits are funny! They break the Fourth Wall and get away with it, too. :thumbup

Ooh, deleted scene from the theater you can be sure will appear in DVD versions.

Hey Oliver helped!

Spoiler below:

I'm curious as to how they'll bring back Superman. Maybe Melisandre will resurrect him :laughing :twofinger

Lobe how critics panned it but audiences are loving it, and despite terrible reviews it's making aprox 450million worldwide this weekend

Popularity means nothing. Critics are coming from (the good ones) a more sophisticated understanding of movie making. They arent the typical "dude shit gets blown up its rad!" of the mindless entertainment crowd. Case in point: Justin Beaver is hella popular music entertainer. You think most musicians dig his shit? No. His shit is for the musically mindless. Mass popularity means nothing in regards to quality of art.

im not trying to say popularity rules

whats interestig tho, is the reasons they dont like it. its being panned for being too serious, not fun, etc etc. critics who the marvel BS movies, which are the justin beiber of films, are hating this one

I agree. Comic book movies are the Justin Beiber of the film world. Totally understandable when preteens love them but rather silly when grown men do.

Saw it last night. It was decent, not great. For being over 2 and a half hours it still seemed like little to no character development. Visually it wasnt as appealing as I had hoped. There was also some very nonsensical plot points. But i will say it was incredibly different than other superhero movies. Affleck wasnt bad either.

Pffft. Just look at Aquaman's hair as he was underwater, that hair movement alone was more character development than the last two Spider-Man movies. :laughing

I fell asleep during the first 30-45min the last 30-45 had some action and I was awake for that.:|

Anything is better than epider man 3...anything.

I saw it on Friday and have to say the plot felt disjointed and painful to watch. The cinematography was good and I liked it. The film had an excellent look, but the story arc was excruciating to watch. Even the acting I felt like was pretty good, but the dialogue the actors were given to work with was just poor and they story was just jumbled and erratic.

Of course I was kind of hammered when we stumbled into the theater, so I am going to give it a second try when sober...

That's a pretty narrow minded opinion.

You must be so sophisticated. :thumbup

Gone girl was awful. His performance was absolutely wooden, as always. The movie felt an hour longer than it actually was, and I had it figured out in the first 30 minutes. I do not understand why people like this guy as an actor. He's not believable in any way.

He's like the modern day Kevin Costner. Ubiquitous and horrible. :party

Comic book movies are no different from the latest Rambo or Fast & Furious or whatever misc. man-candy Hollywood pumps out. These films appeal to men for a reason, and someone who doesn't get that just left his sack on the shelf next to his pleasantly chilled Sauv Blanc.

Whiskey drinkin' man types like movies with lasers, hella stuff blowing up, and chicks in leather cat suits.

;)

Rumor has it the Directors Cut has another 30-40 min that make it a significantly better story, but WB didn't want a 3.5 hr movie in theaters.
