Big, Bad Treehouse

Because we had installed the joist hangers while the support beams were on the ground, it was a bit easier to position the beams once everything was up in the air:

:rofl
Is that a permit taped to the tree?

I was wondering, tz, how you are dealing with female fear-based Mom thinking? That things look pretty high up there. Glorious, mind you, but....

Oh well, it is a motorcycle forum.

You are a REAL MAN!!!!

I would be scared to death to attempt that. That takes Skill and Huevos!!! (I have neither)

This is the last shot taken before my wife and kids had to head home for the week:

As of this writing, all four diagonal braces are installed and the platform is as solid as the deck on my house. I'll go up for the weekend on Thursday evening and begin installing the flooring.

When finished, the structure will be an octagonal gazebo whose "foundation" should support about 18,000 pounds. I may or may not try to place a roof this year, but the structure for one will be in place. We are still sorting out how to access the treehouse from the ground. Short term, we'll use a ladder, but longer term, I may build a cable supported bridge from another tree with a staircase leading up to the bridge.
