Bike Scam

Hm... What to do? My "wife" isn't answering any of my calls. She might be sleeping with my boss :laughing

Please tell your wife to send a copy of the receipt from moneygram so we can go on with this.

Regards,
Robert

He must be losing his marbles right now

Robert,

I've tried multiple times today to reach her back in California but she hasn't returned any of my calls. Its about 4:35pm PST and I just checked a few minutes ago on the status of the moneygram, which still says its "in process." I'm hoping and guessing that since its the weekend, it will take a few days until it can go through. Try checking back on Monday to see if anything shows up for you. The nonrefundable $96.00 transaction fee has already been taken out of my bank account; I will be needing a reimbursement for this amount.

i still say once you're done fucking with this guy....as a closer, just tell him you'll just over night to him....but this check is for substantially more, so he'll have to wire you bakc the difference! :thumbup

What's sad is if this jergoff finds one sucker a month with 8 hours a day of work, 5 days a week, he is still making far more money than I am =/
Well, that just brought me crashing down to reality! It's like killing ants....For every one you see, there's a million more where that came from.:mad It's still fun to watch this guy inch closer to his own demise.

Here is a UPS code if you want to use something i shipped from work the other day.

1ZV3F7490390553881

Did anyone call that number?

Run down to whoever is a MoneyGram Agent (Safeway? Rite Aid?) and get an actual form to mail him, they should just be sitting on the counter for people to fill out. When he says, "Doh! You don't mail it, I just need the reference number!" you tell him you don't know what it is 'cause you mailed him everything they gave you. You can then mail him a package COD or registered (to get proof of his activity) or just the form filled out with a bogus reference number and let him get flustered at not being able to get the money.

Heh. Or yeah, just tell him you sent it and then after x days you can 'find' the un-sent envelope behind the sofa.

Anyone know if the reference numbers are numerical or alphanumeric?

(Oh, to receive money on the other end I think they just need ID and the reference number. They sign a form at the agent and get a wad of cash.)

In addition , if you DON'T mail it but instead make the claim to have Western Union or MoneyGrammed it be sure to pick a location that he'll have to travel to.

One website on 'scambaiting' has already been posted here i.e. www.419eater.com , this and other websites oreinted towards the internet bloosport of scambaiting will give you myriad tips on how to string these clowns along for quite some time.

Bonus points for getting them to make multiple trips to the post office or Western Union office , likewise for getting them to take stupid picture holding signs or in this case possible a picture of the bike with a silly ass sign.

Subscribed for entertainment purposes only!

I'm now off to read the sites about screwing with the scamers.
I was scammed on eBay about 10 years ago for a little over a grand for a TV. it was t even at a crazy reduced price so seamed legit.
Used and out of biz shipping company and bogus addy.
Luckily, paypal/eBay/credit card/ covered my loss. Reported to his suposive local PD.
I've gotten smarter but the scams just keep getting so elaberate it's funny.
Try buying a newer car on CL for $4,800 bucks....always, ALWAYS a scam...lol

I vote the first post should be edited with the replies/responses so we don't have to go through all the pages! This thread is moving too fast!

I feel bad for Robert :(

Hello again D,

I called at moneygram and they say the reference number is invalid. Please send me the correct reference number asap. I will send your $96 back as soon as I verify payment.

Thanks,
Robert

now is when you contact him and tell him MoneyGram is telling you the transaction is complete.
after all, he has such a common name....maybe someone hacked your wireless connection and scammed you both! o noes!!!!! or be angry and say I know you got it, Moneygram tells me you picked it up at XXXX time and date....are you trrying to scam me or something?!?!?!

epic lulz

I completely agree! Turn it around.

I would get argumentative and say that moneygram contacted you about it being a potential scam and that Mr Robert is potentially a fraud... which is why they are delaying payment

I would tell him you got drunk, bought a big screen TV with his money and watched porn with a female relative.

That's what I did, and the guy went apeshit. :rofl

p.s... I finished our emails off by telling him he would be lucky to come back in his next life as a dung beetle. :teeth

read the attached to see the similarities...

I like this approach. :thumbup That way you get to make him think you BOTH got scammed by a third party. This is where you (tell him you'll) contact Scotland Yard. :rofl

It'll get there :devil

Robert,

I was up until 4am last night trying to figure out whats going on with the situation. I re-checked the status on the moneygram earlier today around 12-1230pm PST and it says that the transaction has been completed. I am assuming now that you have received the payment. I have even contacted a few associates of mine back in California to confirm on the moneygram (#16248546), and they also have told me the money has been received on your end.

If you encounter any additional problems, contact me at anytime. Again, I won't be back in office until Friday, July 24th. So for the time being, I will only be able to respond to you by e-mail. Thanks for your time and patience.

D.

Also: Please do not forget about the $96.00 transaction fee. Thank you!
