WTF Rossi, was that you choking? Doing your best imitation of CEII at Assen? That was the point of no return for CEII.

Rossi: His kick at MM two years ago showed us he could get rattled. Today, its almost like he got "Rossi'd" again!
That's the point of concern. Old guy's veins not as ice cold as they used to be.

So glad to see he was able to reel in Maverick after passing Zarco. The man still has the pace!

AARP needs some stickers on Rossi's bike, yo!

Yeah I thought that was weak. They need an actual penalty if you ever run off. Some real consequence. Or, put sand closer to the track so it slows them down. That should have been a half second penalty for a mistake of that magnitude. Instead he just took up where he left off, which was not appropriate.

Seriously. When the competition is this tight, when 10 riders can qualify within a second of each other (OK, not this round), it's unimaginable that a fuckup causing a rider to go off course can occur with no penalty.

when rossi crashed i let out one of these.....

As long as he doesn't gain time running off track, there's no penalty. He likely rolled off and fell back to where he was, if not a bit further back. Otherwise he would have been penalized and Rossi still would have DNF'ed.

If 25 doesn't cut the track, 46 wins.

How so? You think he gained an advantage from cutting the track and that DORNA didn't look into the data to see if he did?

Vinales is an amazing rider and he put the screws to the old man and won.

Now, if Rossi hadn't run off track, he would have won. This lose is on the old man himself and no one else.

Agreed. Incidents like Austin where a rider runs off after a 'helping hand' from another rider is one thing. Going off all by yourself due to a mistake should warrant some kind of penalty.

He didn't gain time but he got away 'free' with a mistake. If that tarmac wasn't there, do you think he would have been immediately back behind Rossi putting the screw to the old man ? Rossi wasn't forced into the DNF ( IMO ) until he was passed again by Mav and tried to override to win. Of course its completely Rossi's mistake in the end and that's the price he has to pay for it. Just seem a bit unfair other big mistakes are inconsequential.

How long does it take a ride to get through sand or gravel run off to rejoin the track if the tarmac wasn't there? 5s ? 10s? 15s? A time penalty equal to the run off time would be fair IMO.

Then again, even if the rules are a bit unfair, they all play by the same rules.

Do you understand what it is you're watching?
Of course he gained an advantage, by virtue of not losing time due to overcooking the turn. Had he been forced to stay on track, he would have had to continue to slow, and alter his line, all the while losing time to the man in front.

Well, clearly DORNA and the FIM disagree with you.

But dude, these are the rules. Asphalt runoff is there for safety, but as a side effect you don't incur the natural penalty you used to when you ended up in the grass or kitty litter. There's talk in motoGP and F1 about how often there are no longer consequences for running off. But it is the same for everyone - no consequences. These are the rules, the same for everyone. You may not suffer by losing as much time as you used to, but you can't gain a time advantage, otherwise you'll be penalized. C'mon dude, don't make us Rossi fans look bad by crying about Mav blowing the chicane. He won it fair and square. Couple hundred thousand axons and dendrites aren't firing across the synapse quite like they used to. Happens to us all. Father Time, Father Time....

you motherfuckers act like you dont cut the corner in a racing video game if they dont penalize you. its just human nature to try and get away with as much as possible without penalty

Not whining or crying man, none of this effects my life, just something to talk about on the internet while I try in vain to get some work done. :laughing
This is Couch Racers Corner, so I am couch racing!
25 doesn't cut the corner, loses time, pushes hard, and probably catches 46 with a few corners to go. Would've been an epic finish!
