Prowl eBay, I'm sure you'll find something suitable.

Looking very nice. Seems like it would be fun to do something like this.

early-70s yamaha RD & XS Masters are particularly spare, with a adjustable nice lever

the earliest version masters don't even suffer ugly DOT stickers - clean!:

Yammie TZ-style fixed, minimalist caliper looks better & may be superior to Soichiro's clunky swinger

Do you think I could run something off a modern bike? I want performance, not period looks.

It has been fun, and I think somebody with just a little more skill, patience and ability would be able to do this much more easily and quickly. Oh, and cash. You need lots of cash.

use that period RD/XS MC - it's fine

or, search out a clip-on-angled version, if that better fits the bars

then add big-diameter cast iron rotor & R1/6 Blue-spot caliper - each part will require a custom spacer, but CB'll stop and look good

What's the reason for using the Yammie MC? Is it somehow better?

if you want a single caliper you need a relatively small MC. beyond that details depend on what caliper(s) you're using. blue dot calipers are light and quite stiff - the current version is radial mount but no other real changes.

no, it's simple & small -

plus, that plunger bolt makes it adjustable, just like the latest litrebikes

I'd consider a master from a semi-current dirt bike. I replaced the master on my old XT600 with a master off a um... CR250? Three finger stoppies. Yay. :teeth

How many HP will this baby pull?

I saw a dyno chart of a CB350 making about 25 RWHP! And that was a built racebike. I hope mine is better than that, but I doubt it...

That's a good idea, too.

Funny you should ask...

Charlie called me yesterday. He says he's down to the final week and he his a snag--the Jemco exhaust isn't designed for use with a centerstand, and I've cut my sidestand lugs off! D'oh! So I told Charlie to finish the bike and I'd use a swingarm stand or maybe a tree to hold my bike up until we figure out how to weld a sidestand back on...

Anyway, he's saying he'll want the tank and seat at the end of the week--I could be actually riding this bike soon!

Gabe, I have a small bore Honda frame available I can scarf the lug and stand off of if you need something to try out. I think its a CM200, so kinda close in size.

Jim!

you'd cut yer frame for Gabe

dat's true Honda luvs.............

No man love, we need him to keep the moto fishwrap running. Like crab and sourdough bread, SF needs its traditions to lure tourist out of their money.

Plus I had a Trackmaster framed Yamaha 650 with no stand,it was a pain to go/park anywhere.
