California Assault Weapon Registration

I would bet money that you are correct. Heck, I bet a lot of people don't even know about the AW registration.

You’d be surprised how many people we had come to the store to sell or transfer rifles that were bought prior to 1999 and had no idea to this day that they were supposed to register them as AW.

The fuck does it matter? My mini 14 shoots the same bullets at the same rate of fire.

It doesn't matter how I hold it or if I have a button on the side or below, it'll still do the damage.

Whole thing is bullshit

I'm probably going to get one of those maglock dealies that locks the mag until you shotgun the rifle for my AR.

My saiga and PSL I don't know what I"m gonna do they're going to have to go featureless I guess. I'm in no hurry and I stopped shooting for a while no time no money to go shooting. =(

Meh. The relatively tiny number of murders/assaults by those using rifles make it all a colossal waste of time and money.

Pretty much. But hey look, the did something!

Calguns people believe DOJ has done no outreach on purpose, unlike what Lockyer did with the SKS, because they want people not to register, hence criminalize.

I can see some truth in that, however, I don't think they necessarily want to criminalize people. I think that they are okay with criminalizing people at the cost of getting guns out of people's hands. Either way, the outcome for them is the same.

Register nothing.

Don't admit or acknowledge owning things that require registration that others are actively trying to have declared illegal.

To that end, I've already rigged up a PA system on the bike which masks the exhaust and makes it sound like a Zero bike, just louder. The small solar panel on the tail rack completes the illusion.

Wait until you see how an HK94 looks with a charging handle like it belongs on a Mauser bolt gun.

Not that I own such a thing nor know of an actual example.

I neutered my AR and the rest of my guns aren't affected by this. The AR was bought last year so they know I have it.

no offense to anyone intended, but am curious and have a question. for all of you that own assault weapons, what is it you normally do with them (shooting-wise)?

register my firearms? fuck no.

gonna make my AR308 featureless.

gonna make another one into fixed magazine so I can keep all the evil features.

I used to hunt deer with my SKS. It was far more affordable than a bolt action rifle at the time, and it was perfect for the hilly brush country I hunted in.

The locals teased me the first time out: "How many shots you need, boy?" I only ever carried two rounds in it; one to hit, one just in case it wasn't a perfect hit. A couple of the old gaffers tried it out and liked it. By the next season three of the locals had SKSs as well. Affordable, durable, easy as heck to clean, and if you nicked the stock crossing barbed wire it didn't hurt as much as it would have if you'd done it to a $400 Remington.

I got tired of California's ever-changing regulations and vague definitions so I got rid of it.

Shoot cans, bottles, targets, pine cones, trees.

I own it out of fear that my state or country is going to tell me I can't, especially after events like Orlando and Vegas.

Every one of these "big" events I buy another one.

Not sure what gun is best to fight fire with but I'm thinking something shot gun like.

You mean sporting rifles?
