haha Id much rather drive the slower Miata.
I even went with my check to the Miata store when I saw the new ones for $17k in the Sunday paper. Unfortiantaly I don't fit in the new one either.

Dude, for $300 or less you can get a Corbeau race/street seat that will fit you. I have a friend who is 6'3" and he has to mount it forward a little to reach the pedals.

And really, you *need* a decent seat if you're getting a car to have fun in the twisties. I'll never leave a car stock again if I'm planning on using it for fun in the hills. Wish I'd done it years earlier.

H2V2 and others:

KEEP YOUR EUROTRASH CARS OUT OF THIS THREAD,

this is FORD MUSTANG vs CHEVROLET CAMARO.

On topic, the Mustang, with a rear-end swap to something that isn't derived from a horse-and-cart, and some light breathing, can be made to go PDQ for low $$$. Shockingly so.

My money's on the Mustang.

But I'd rather have a 64 red convertible one, even if it's kinda slow compared to modern ones. Dan Tanner FTMFW.

Oh I know about the seat trick. I'm 6'5. Ive driven a few great 94-97 cars with lower race seats and even though I fit with the roof, sorry, bonnet, up it still wasn't up to the task of daily driving in loafers and slacks/driving with chicky on the coast down to warm water.
Didn't mustang have some special edition non live axle car a few years ago? A bit more $ but more importantly a serious flop with their target buyer.

If they came with proper rear suspension I would actually consider getting a new V8 convertible instead of trying to get a closeout V6 for a good commuter/weekend getaway.

Ya..I took it a step further on mine. Pulled wheel sensor so the ABS and the active handling were completely gone. Even if you turn the systems off with the button there is a background algorithm called VSES that you can't disable(hinders trailbraking). Made a bigger difference on the track than in the twisties but it was amazing. The car felt like an extension of my extremities.

Mine burned 1.5 qts during one day at the track, and that's skipping 3 sessions.

As far as the clutch, I only took my car to strip once, and after the 2-3 upshift my clutch pedal stuck to the floor. There's a severe clutch overheating problem on those cars. They don't like to be slipped but that's the only way to get a good launch. You just have to deal with it.

The clutch fluid gets burned and absorbs too much moisture which lowers the boiling point. Gotta suck it out and out fresh fluid in every year.

This thread went ghey. NSX's? Really? Then someone posted a LFA...Oh god.

Ya. If someone doesn't have pics of their own car that is hopefully a Mustang or Camaro...spare me.

For me, it's not a Euro/ Japanese/ US thing...it's a value thing. Best bang for the buck and in my world, that means low lap times.

There's alot of Euro stuff I'd like to own. A GT-R is something I'd like to try soon too. the CLK63 Black series is next on my list I think, but they seem to fall in value pretty quick...which really determines what I can buy and resell quickly.

Hartley Enterprises is Japanese? :dunno

True - but what they really did was take 2 'Busa motors and mate them.

It's arguable - is a car really from its country of origin if it's made from mostly foreign parts?

Anyway, I don't really care, I was being facetious - the Atom is hardly comparable except that it has 4 wheels and an engine.
