it must of been the adrenaline rush but I got back up and felt full charged and ready to go. Before my friend could even convince me to chill out I hopped back on my bike and kept it moving
Went to the ER last night and luckily nothing is broken but I have a few contusions and they had to staple up my leg. My whole right side of my body is one huge sore, its pretty hard to move around right now.
I was on the backside of China Camp. I went down and cleared Hitler just fine but as we ventured down the single track after that I was going at a decent clip prob somewhere around 15mph+ or so and somehow completely missed the fact that there was a tree branch or something overhanging the trail. I ran right into it with my head HARD, felt like somebody jumped out of nowhere and hit me in the head with a bat. That made me pinball into another tree and I slammed my shoulder into that tree sending me off into the bushes. My friend came aroudn the corner and said he heard a loud as "Whack" all the way down the trail

So I got back into a decent pace again just kinda flowin and coasting over everything, made that littel steep rocky drop and then went up some hill and as I came down there was that wood plank bridge. I think my equilibrium musta been out of whack because I took a funny line and my rear wheel didn't track my front and just as I passed over the bridge my rear wheel slipped off and I fell all the way down into the ravine like a sack of potatoes with my bike falling on top of me, and this wasn't a slide down a hill, I caught air and FELL all the way down hitting the bottom of the ravine with a "thud". I'd guess it was like an 8 ft drop conservatively. I was wheezing and could barely breathe as I probably crushed my ribs a bit and my friend came rushing down. I had a small hole in my knee and was bleeding and was severely sore. I fell on the same shoulder that I had just whacked 10 minutes prior.
I dusted off myself off and proceeded to finish the ride totally dazed and fucked up big time, although I still kept it movinWent to the ER last night and luckily nothing is broken but I have a few contusions and they had to staple up my leg. Lesson learned; when you hit your head don't take it so lightly. Oh and no more backside of China Camp for me, well I might have to do it one more time to shake off the heebie jeebies but after that no more hehe, AND it helps being young and resilient![]()

Quick report from San Luis Obispo:
Lots of fun trails over here, but everything I've ridden so far is rocky, sandy and washed out. Fun for sure, but different from the heavy tree cover and buffed singletrack I'm used to in Northern California.
The scene is really progressive here. Trail access everywhere. There's a fun DH trail just a couple of miles from where I'm living, and they're about to build a freeride park near the campus.
I haven't been riding my Cannondale AM bike much, but I'm probably better off on it with all the rocks I'm dealing with around here. Either way, I'm diggin it
