Do you wear a watch?

I'm interested in a nice GMT watch, but suppose I don't want to drop the 7-10k on a Rolex GMT master... what are some nice options?

I like this one because it's understated, has a bracelet, looks cool, and the GMT part seems pretty functional. Thoughts on this? Alternatives?

Here's a noob question. It seems like my relatively inactive daily life (computer programmer) does not wind up my watch enough. The specs say a 50hr power reserve. I see my watch losing time after 2 days so that sounds about right.
Exactly how active do I need to be to get my watch winded up properly? Walk 2 miles? Become the designated high fiver at work? I've read that I should not manually wind my watch all the time. Maybe I should just attach my watch to my 6 yr old for the evening :).

How long have you had the watch? If you're wearing the watch all the time then it should stay wound up. Are you saying that the watch stops working after a couple of days or that you're just losing time after a couple of times? The latter has nothing to do with how much you wear it / wind but about the accuracy of the movement.

It looks like the sarx07 can lose up to 25 seconds a day and still be in factory spec.

As alternatives, I think this one should be pretty much the same as a Baume and Mercier GMT.

The Hamilton GMT suggested above will basically be easier on the money to say the least

Opinion expressed earlier in the thread by another:

If you like Tag's, buy one. I'm the wrong guy to ask because in the secondary market they are tough to sell, so I don't buy them. Also, guys tend to wear them a lot and they get beat up.

I think you should be OK with just winding it 20 revolutions every evening.
Are you sure you're not referring to "Do not over-wind it!" ? (Even that may be fine on many watches, AFAIHH)

Also, does "losing time" mean it's not wound? I didn't necessarily think so... if it's not wound, it would instead simply slowly stop.

losing time after 2 days (almost 30 sec). Hm, it could be just the accuracy of my watch. I do walk my kids to school every morning and sometimes walk to pick them up as well. Maybe I'm not as lazy as I think I am:laughing

Yeah it's just the movement. If you just bought the watch it can take a couple of months to get all the oils spread around / movement lubricated. It's probably going to reduce in the next couple of months. Worst case if it doesn't then you can get it regulated at a watch maker.

The spec on the 6r15 is -15/+25, which is pretty damn wide, and your watch isn't within that spec. Unfortunately it's grey market, correct? If so, Seiko won't help you. Is there still time to exchange it with the vendor?

The 6r15 tends to slow down as it breaks in. I'd contact the vendor ASAP. If that's no help, then continue to wear it for a few months till it's good an broken in, then get it regulated and serviced.

sorry, I wasn't clear...my watch is gaining time by ~20 sec, so I'm good. esp if the 6r15 slows down as it breaks in.

Anyone know of a reliable place that can service a Breitling?

Any recommendations on apple watch straps?

Get the Hermés edition. I hear that comes with a nice strap.

But if you wanna buy my stock black leather one, I'd be game to sell it so I can get the Milanese loop one.

THIS THREAD.

It keeps getting bumped.

I'm going to get a damn Mickey Mouse watch.
