Do you wear a watch?

Sue the person who serviced it last.

Yeah, that totally makes sense. Hire a lawyer and take him to small claims court.

Or equally as smart, buy this watch from me instead. I personally grantee the movement (Rolex does too).

You don't only do not need a lawyer for small claims court, you're not allowed to bring one as far as I know.

If I had any evidence they performed the work I'd let the Jewell er who broke mine know he's incompetent and shouldn't service watches.

..Apparently the clown that replaced my battery last time ripped the caseback gasket. ..

Yeah that happened to me, albeit on a simpler non-chrono (the blue watch that's similar to budmans). I think it was the guy in dtn / Tendernob SF who changed the batteries for about $7-10 back when! He broke the gasket.

Then , that little rubber thing probably degrades and breaks over time anyway. But when *I* changed the battery , I found it in two clean-cut pieces.

Gents Omega #196.1522,

Dang , I didn't know a "James Bond" could be a quartz.

Should I buy this one? ;) :D

If so, what kind do you wear?

I have a couple nice ones:

Nomos tangomat with GMT function.

Breitling Navitimer

Next I'm seriously looking at a Rolex Submariner. Hopefully, this year.:p

The Nomos is a new brand to me, but it keeps super time. I could seriously get into Glashuette watches.:thumbup

For my cheaper Christopher Ward watch I made the mistake of having the battery changed by a cheapo local Jewelry repair guy. Came back with the Chrono hands all in the wrong places, and a busted gasket.

Place went out of business couple years ago. I've got no choice but to just eat the loss.

Beau you've always got some nice Rollies up for sale, but I think the only Rolex I'd ever want is the Milgauss.

Funny story behind it....they did make it in Men's Medium in Quartz, and it was my buddy's engagement gift from his then future father-in-law. Anyway they never got married and unlike a classy guy he didn't return it but rather sold it to me for $800.00 Canadian.

It's worth more than that now. I actually have strangely skinny wrists for such large hands.

That's a great (if funky) story and a good deal haha

You know that Quartz ETA movements can adjust the hands right (RIGHT? :laughing)... pull the spindle and click the chrono buttons. Anyway JFYI

.. dang. Now everyone knows :)

Everything has a clock on it so wearing a watch is just for vanity. Don't need one.

For sure, it's man-jewelry for me. It's like having a tiny engine on your wrist.

That actually sounds way cooler than a watch. I should make a 3D-printed mini-engine for your wrist. If ladies' eyes are drawn towards guys with nice watches, they'll have a hard time ignoring a guy with a small V8 on his wrist.

Mechanical watches are sort of like that except they are spring powered instead of petrol or diesel.

That's why I like the idea of a automatic or manual movement, but I simply cannot justify the money. 3 of mine are quartz, one Russian manual wind.

or just at all.

that's a badass watch though.
