Dollar Shave Club

Just got my Harry's in... definitely a closer shave compared to $ shave club. There isn't a gel/moisturizer strip on the blade cartridge though so it's a rough shave without shaving cream.

Overall, Gillette still #1, then Harrys, then DSC.

Initial thoughts,
Sorta big and looks like it may be slippery with soap on it.
The blade cartridge is quite difficult to get on and off. Hopefully it will loosen up.
Interesting assessment with the difficulty in getting the blade on and off. I've found the slider very easy to use in removing the blade. Did yours come with a box of blades or just an open blade? The blade box makes putting a refill on easy, just push the handle in and slide the blade out of the box.
The HeadBlade is quite literally the only way to shave your head. Much safer and faster than a traditional blade.
Been there, done that and even tried two generations of the HeadBlade. I'm thinking once you get very used to them they would work great but I never got comfortable/confident enough to feel safe or be efficient. Maybe I'll try that again.

Shaving w/o shaving cream....as in just water? My trainer says he uses conditioner as "shaving cream" and gets the cheapest one he can and it lasts.

The trick is to only put pressure on the rear end of it. Also, fuck the new ones with the wheels. The original one without wheels is still the best. Get them on ebay.

Harry's road test report:
I feared it would be slippery with soap or water on the handle. Nope, water accentuates the grip.

Shaves like a dream with minimal pressure. So far so good.

Mtn, blades come with the protective plastic cover for insertion.

Will do. Do you get the blades from HeadBlade or somewhere else?

Ahhhhhh......if you end up ordering a box of blades it makes putting them on the handle much easier

Harry's seems interesting, I'll give that a shot after I'm done with my Dorco's that I got on sale. So far the Dorco isn't bad, its just not as good as the Mach3, one thing I noticed is it seems like the blades are closer together and harder to clean out. I have to depress the blades a little with my finger nail while under water to clear them out, tapping on the sink bowl doesn't seem to work. I'm tempted to drop the Droco and get the Harry's set though.

Dollar shave club doesn't sound all that interesting after reading through this thread.

I'd be interested in a straight edge or the safety razor, they seem like too much work though. More time shaving means less time sleeping in the morning and I can't have that :x

If you don't like Dorco, then you won't like DSC (they are identical).

IMO it's worth it to try out the safety razor if you've got the interest. If you only do one pass with your multi-blade cartridge razors, then it's true the safety razor will be slower, but not by much.

Your skin will feel better and so will your wallet. Fewer blades = less irritation. You can purchase the high-end safety razor blades and still save money, even if you use the cheapest of crappy cartridges.

But what about the lift and cut system. Surely it’s not just marketing BS, surely it has an advantage over all other methods. Its engineered

Just got my Harry's and tried it out. Wow! It was one of the best shaves I had in a while. I liked DSC but after using Harry's, DSC is going in the trash.
