I still need to do this as well. I just deleted the app and stopped looking on my PC. That was three or more years ago, I can't remember the date well but it was before marketplace blew up. That would be the only reason for me to use the site. I am also a CL fan but I agree that it is not as good as it used to be.

When I quit FB, I left one last post. I told all of my "Friends" that I was logging off for good in a few days, send me a message if you want my actual phone number so that we could keep in contact. Not a single "Friend" sent me a message. I have all of my actual friends and family's numbers already so that was not an issue. It was more of an experiment, and it went exactly as I thought it would.

I'm so glad I left that site.

Ok so yes FB sux but this may not be as nefarious as you are thinking. Not saying it isn't, just that it may not be.

My story is I have been through this path. Created a new account for work using work email. Actually got added to our business account as admin (I am Ops). Could log in and see our ad account, spend, users, etc. Within a few hours I got the boot with same messaging and no clarity. It is the bots hard at work. I went through the appeal process which they respond with you have to wait 48 hours. Well after the 48 I returned and it basically says your account is locked and to piss off. There is no link, no support, no recourse, no nothing. Therefore I am locked out from my account in which we have regular ad spend with these people and I can't even get the time of day.

I have friends who work for Meta and I even went through them, had internal support tickets, answered questions, got absolutely nowhere. Officially over it.
 
Oh and if that wasn't weird, I literally just got a call from Meta (their Sales/Marketing Pro people) immediately after I posted that ^^. I even hit up a couple of those folks too when I was trying to resolve all of this and they were completely useless as well.

What possible reason would they have for wanting a multi-angle video of my face? They absolutely will not allow me to do anything until I do that.

The only thing that I can come up with for this requirement is that they're assembling an 'enemy of the US' list, complete with full identity.

I absolutely will not give them that kind of picture of me, we've seen how Zuk has sold his sole, I think he's capable of anything at this point.

There is nothing they could ask for that would facilitate facial recognition software, something that could be used to track down people.

We are heading into a very dark time in our nation and things that would have been considered absolutely unthinkable in this country are now very real possibilities. There has been no tool built ever before that could narrow down the list of possible problem people to be rounded up and eliminated for a regime to consolidate it's power than social media. I always expected it to be China to do it, and they likely have, to a point, but I cannot rule out, anymore, that it's entirely possibly in our near future.

I am not going to give them what they're demanding, so I will be suspended, I cannot do anything with facebook until I provide that video they are demanding and that will never happen. I limited my friend count to under 50 and never went over that. I had contacts with relatives and friends through facebook, but that will go away./
 
Good for you! Enjoy the extra time you would have otherwise wasted on the stupid app!!

“Enemy” ?? Yo wtf that’s like climber is entering full crotchety stage.

Although theoretically possible in the future, I don’t think that’s what zuck is doing not right now.

I think what they’re doing in your case is trying to legitimize a person/business!
 
Try sending them pix of someone else’s face and see what happens.
 
They are demanding a video and rotating my face as their code determines if they have sufficient info.
As to confirming my account, I've had it for over a decade and have been active all along with no email change.
The only thing I've done that could possibly cause their response is liking a bunch of comments critical of Trump and a couple comments about him (2-3). My guess is that Trump made Zuk add some people to FB who are enforcing his compliance with eliminating voices dissenting to Trumps authority.

I am, but my one drawback is that it is the only contact that I have with some folk and I have zero ability to contact those few to let them know I'm no longer active with FB.
