This game was annoying but addictive at the same time

They had this on the computers at my school. I remember being the first person to beat the game at my school...didn't really help my reputation :rofl

Now that you have me thinking, Tron was close, but no game ever got me going more than this sit down bad boy...

Gotta say Donkey Kong is hands down the best in my book and I still play semi-regularly. I worked on developing the IBM PC port back in the 80's for Atarisoft and spent a TON of time reviewing video Nintendo sent and playing a lot. Not to mention hand rendering the graphics to graph paper then to sprites. Too bad they screwed us (and the rest of the developers) and the one that got released was some crappy Chinese thing that didn't even look like DK and didn't even play. Granted this is literally from the early days of CGA graphics so we only had 2 different 3 color palette plus BG color but we had the gameplay and animation dialed for what we had to work with. The sound was also custom and we had a friend with a Mini Moog synthesizer replicate the sound effects pretty darn well. Who knows, if I ever really get motivated to bust it out... I still have the source code. Funny, it is the one game I can never get sick of.

I have actually posted up a couple of records on Twin Galaxies. For sure though I am nothing like Steve, Billy, or the newest kid on the block I saw lurking for a long time Hank Chien. I knew he was gonna get the record.

I also had the opportunity to work in the coin-op industry for a while in my youth and we produced some fun titles.

Another awesome game from back in the day... Major Havoc

Oh and for the person who posted original Pong for TV console... how many leaky D batteries did you have to fish out of those things? It has been so many years I have forgotten. I want to say my original was 8 and then they came out with a revised model that was like 6 or 5 cells.

How dedicated of a gamer are you?

Coincidentally a friend just sent this from Japan.
