Golden State Warriors 2017-2018

Interesting. I'm no expert, but you seem to hear that Thibodeau is a good coach. KAT looks like he's playing his first playoff series, although 8 and 5 points is really low.

I'd probably rather the Rockets play the Pelicans. Stylistically, I don't much like OKC, and also think they would give more of a series than injured Pelicans.

Thibs is pretty awful. Slow to adapt and by the time he does it's too late. Runs his players into the ground and def doesn't do anyone favors. Never has set plays to help his players. KAT should be eating but he can't get him mroe than 8 shots in the first game? Rockets aren't playing D at that level.

:wtf Pelicans...play the Warriors next, yes?

Looking like it. Jrue has come alive. Stotts is lost which is the main issue. Matchup wise it's terrible too for the blazers.

I'm a big fan of dame and cj and pretty surprised at this playoff series. Usually dame shows up when it's go time

The matchups are awful. Not enough length for the Blazers and AD can rotate too much to cover Aminu, Turner etc. Nurk is way too slow to deal with AD and the rest aren't quite developed enough on D to stop the rest.

Does the NBA seem much more fun and "cool" than the early 2000s, etc.? I remember those NBA on NBC commercials, that electronica theme song, SD-quality viewing, etc. These days, the NBA is young, hyper-athletic, and entertaining.

Not sure which I prefer but I did enjoy the NBA of the early 2000’s. Don’t you miss the heyday of your Yao Ming/Steve Francis era?

Haha, those WERE great times, although the McGrady/Yao years (or, year?) in which they both played more than 40 games a season were great. As an aside, Steve Francis seems in bad shape these days (physically, mentally), I did like him a lot as a player (along with Cuttino Mobley).

But these days, it's hard to describe, but the athletes are more interesting and captivating, rivalries fresh, etc.

Holy Shnorkel, Derrick Rose has been found and is alive and well!

Yup, I wonder if he can use this to relaunch his career (he's only 29!).

I guess I didn't expect sweeps from the Rockets and GSW (though Rockets in 5), but jeez, a Rockets loss tonight would SUCK.

^^^ Rockets loss tonight and suddenly the Pelicans look like the team to beat. They're playing well.

I thought the Pacers had it with like 4 min left and a 93-88 score I think....but nope :(

2-2 going back to 'The Land'....be gnarly if the Pacers can grab game 5. Cavs will be really tight in game 6.

Pelicans look suddenly formidable, and you have to wonder if Cousins were healthy. But, think they lose in 6 to GSW, assuming Curry is somewhere at or above 75% healthy.

Think Rockets tonight, take it in 5.

Utah and OKC is very interesting, Rubio also having a bit of a renaissance. Westbrook's comments after last game pretty pissy (basically, "I'll stop Rubio, you'll see), which makes tonight's game even more interesting.

Ugly game with two ugly teams. Pacers scrappy play is very effective, but at times a little much. (See Stephenson's headlock takedown on Green at the end of the game.)

The Cavs are not a good team right now. I think they'll pull it out against Indiana, and have a chance at getting to the finals... but I don't think they'll win. Too many lineup changes, not enough time to mesh, and perhaps still not the right fit.

Sadly, it might be the end of Lebron in Cleveland, too. I've enjoyed watching him over the last few years, and I'll still be excited to see him play wherever he ends up. Still the best player in the NBA.

If they don't pull it out, then oh well. Less ball and more motorcycling this spring. Really, really nice in NC right now.

LeBron is too good - he's a guaranteed 30+ points per game. Then they have about 6 other players who realistically could go off and just need one or two of them to show up per game.

For example: LeBron will score his usual 40, Korver will go cold but then JR Smith will hit like 12 threes in the game, then a few others will chip in like 4 points each and the Pacers will have no answer.

All that talk about the Cavs getting bounced in the first round was pretty funny.

Well Indiana has been defending him extremely well. Lebron is one of the greatest facilitators in the game right now, but you need those other guys to step up... and in many instances, they haven't. Not enough passing and assists on behalf of the rest of the team.

Still pretty darn unpolished at this point. Something like 35+ different starting lineups this year.

:dunno

I hope so, but injuries seem to have taken a toll on him, mentally and physically.

Rose seems to thrive under Tom Thibodeau for some reason, he was his coach when he won his League MVP award in 2011.

I was at my computer last night streaming the Rockets game, but somehow was distracted enough that a 1-pt lead was 15 the next time I looked up.

Looking forward to reading through the game thread at Clutchfans to see the real-time reactions to 50-pt quarter.

I do like the Timberwolves' nucleus, especially if Rose is going to travel back in time. Wiggins may get traded?

Wasn't pretty offensively, but they pulled out the W.
