Golden State Warriors 2017-2018

Yeh, I'm no fan of Westbrook but that was stupid. OTOH, the OKC fans and their cupcake bit is pretty obnoxious too. Gawd knows what kinds of things they are saying at KD courtside.

I blame Jim Rome and his Chrissy Evert moment. It's been downhill ever since. There is something weird about pro sports and really aggressive fan taunting...It's good natured at Giants games for the most part (I sit in the bleacher seats where its loudest and people often laugh including the players), but NBA seems to get nastier.

LOL, Chrissy Evert...I remember seeing clips of that. Wasn't it staged?

I kind of agree about Westbrook. AMAZING talent, "generational," so to speak. But jeez, never met a shot he didn't like, and his teams just aren't that entertaining, due to chucky-ball.

Pretty glad Utah won. Should be a fun series with the Rockets.

I never thought it was But I have basically wanted to slap Jim Rome ever since that day. And, as a Niner fan, I'm supposed to hate the Rams. But Jim Everett seemed like a patient decent guy. The whole thing had that Andy Kaufman tension...

My bottom line about OKC is consistent. It's not fun to watch, it's just Westbrook and his precious bunny-rabbit all over the court anger.

he's a great player but as a player on that team you would have the existential question of why bother when it's so un-fun. This is why KD's move was so rewarding for him. Almost the opposite of Westbrook-ball. Unless the guys goes Zen in the off-season, he will never be a fun teammate. He got up to 46 points and they STILL lost. Geezus, there's a message in there somewhere.

76 points at the half...what year is it??

Jeesus. Did not expect this kind of game. Yeah yeah early, makes me worried about Rockets/GSW series.

The Warriors showed up. Their speed and defense just got intense tonight. They really did save themselves for the big dance, jeez. But if their shooting cools down, Pelicans are still a good team...I ain't predicting a sweep because Warriors have shown all year that they can lose interest within games.

Haha, but you predicted a GSW sweep of the Rockets!

No I didn't. You are mis-remembering alternative facts. This is as close as to what you are charging from a post you took exception to:

"We'll have to agree to check back but I don't think the Rockets will win the championship this year. They play too slow and I think they will be outscored even if its very high scores all around . I think some fans are in for a big disappointment. But yes, I could be wrong, just an opinion. "

Right. If the Dubs don't lose players like right now, they will win the series but probably not sweep. Otherwise, the rest of the team has really been in extreme training playing during these absences. If they have this intensity and get some stars back, look out. And, in their own way, the Rockets may find out that winning all those games and glory has a price as the Dubs did in the 73 win season.

I mentioned the blazers game from last night. The way they were defending against the Rockets reminded me of the way the Dubs can just clamp down at times and I now feel the Rockets are beatable. Only the ref whistle will prevent that.

Well, I probably did mis-remember a bit. What you said is GSW probably won't sweep . That's not the same as saying they will sweep, but still WAY overconfident, in my mind (in that a sweep by either team is close to likely). I think 7-game series.

It's looking like Warriors v. Rockets for the west conference finals, to nobody's surprise.

Curry to return Tuesday. Woot!

So in the end, the 1,2,3,4 seeds passed through in the East, while the West had two upsets... Pelicans (6) and Jazz (5), for 1,2,5,6.

Sixers & Celtics play tonight. Should be a good game. While they had an easy schedule to close out the season, the Sixers looked extremely good over the last month. Will be interesting to see how/if Boston survives. I'm not sure who I'd rather the Cavs play at this point, assuming they can outlast Toronto.

Pels-Ws game 2 is about the fastest pace I've seen played all season. I missed most of Q1 due to watching Toronto lose to the Lebrons in OT. Idiots, get your shit together. I think I saw all of 2 baskets between Lowry and DeRozan in Q4 and OT.

To be fair, the Cavs missed a shit ton of baskets in the last few minutes, too. Good comeback, though.. If Raptors don't take the next game Thursday, that'll be the mental guard break... and they'll be done in 4 or 5.

Pelicans playing some serious ball tonight.

Draymond played like a man possessed. Yet another MVP on a team of MVPs.

Did Klay seem a little pissed off about all the Curry hype? Maybe not pissed off, but miffed maybe. Both him and Durant seemed a little out of sorts when Curry came back in for a bit.

That foul on Iggy was scary, but good on the offender for grabbing Iggy's head before he hit it on the floor.

That was a serious playoff game. I can imagine other teams watching that like "thank god one of those teams is going to be knocked out!"

Pelicans came to play. Too bad to see Davis start to limp a bit. Hopefully he'll be close to 100 going forward.

I think Klay was mad that he was having a crappy shooting night.

That's the thing, even on a crappy shooting night, the Dubs still won. You might argue that the final stats of top scorers, of 28, 26 and 20 (I think) was a good shooting night, but considering the pace and shots attempted, those numbers could have been higher. Klay was just out of it. He is just an enigma but its obvious he has to have just a certain inner rhythm for it to fall together. He did get the buzzer beater but it was night he puts behind him. Durant finally heated up but he missed a bunch too.

Thing is, they can't have those nights against the Rockets, that's for sure. They have established very good to sometimes smothering defense and its challenged by Davis' ability and size. But their shooting "fortune" is a huge factor night to night.

I like Draymond as much as any Warriors fan does, but as much as he contributes he's still a potentially big liability. 2016 anyone?

Who was the guy sitting court side at last nights game wearing ripped black Levi's and a black cowboy hat? He was at the Warriors end of the bench one seat away from the scoring table.
