GoPro HD Hero2

so does anyone know if the new lens on the Hero2 fixes the previous cam's problems w/ blurry underwater footage?

Will get mine tomorrow. Was shipped last night from Union City. Seems like they could get it to Fremont in less than 2 days :(

sold one of my gopro's for 185:( gonna get the outdoor version as soon as it ships from amazon

Seems like every time I get the nerve to buy one a new one comes out. with my luch, by the time I take the plunge someone will come out with a gyrocam and I'll be kicking myself..

im pondering the thought of buying one. I just used a hd recently and what are you guys doing for zoom abilities? The video seems so much farther. Can this only be helped with editing software?

fuck I just bought a regular hero, jeez I walked into that one hard! Someone said it right though, I am just waiting for the GoPro Gyrocam! Don't tell me it's that far away GoPro, lemme get that shiet..

Seems like a gyrocam would only require a weighted and freely rotating base, not a new camera

not exactly, the same forces that keep the bike from falling over through a corner would also prevent a weighted and freely-rotating camera from staying level w/ the horizon.

Didnt someone create a gyroscopic cam? I thought it was with a contour camera, but it was homemade

depends on the axis of motion relative to the center of mass. Properly designed, the centripetal acceleration could result in no net lean. One could do it without needing to modify the camera, certainly.

there are plenty of options out there across the board for horizontal (horizon) gyro camera mounts. Some work better then others. Costs???

Last one I bought was $700 and it works pretty well. I had to fuss with the gear oil which horizontally stabilizes it but... pretty simple and easy to do!

decent example
