Having problems with local dealership......

but the leak is ALOT better this time, its not as large and very small, after ride i laid there and watched the weep hole and one oil drop dribbled down the hole, cleaned it off and rode a coulpe days i can see the residue so its def leaking still.

Let it crust over and it will stop leaking. It's a motorcycle, not a heart valve.

naw imma keep going back i paid for this to get fixed and im getting my moneys worth till the damn thing is fixed,

this weep hole is NOT suppose to leak at all ZERO LEAKS , im not going to shell out over 700 bux out of my pocket and just say screw it when i see a tiny leak

this is not a harley lol

oh and its not going to crust over, the hole goes STRAIGHT down it will not just stay at the hole

I chuckled on that last line..

good luck to you..

Third time is a charm. I'll bet they get it this time, hang in there.:ride

I don't know if this has already been suggested, but Berkeley Honda Yamaha is a class act. But don't take my word for it: go into their service area and look at how clean and orderly it is.

Lube Tech

lol thanks i think third time is a charm!! :/ :/ :/

I have read through this post of yours and I completely understand your frustration......BUT coming on BARF naming the shop and not talking to the person you should have (the owner) as someone has suggested has not helped the situation. Your actions here have been very unprofessional and I have to ask if your a lube/smog tech why did you pay someone do work on your bike for you? (I'm assuming you have tools being in the service industry.) I have used them to diagnose an electrical issue, after I thought I had a bad stator (Honda extended the warranty on the CBR's) they found a burnt ground and a bad plug in the harness. They cut a plug out of a harness they had in the back replaced the ground from regulator rectifier installed new battery and I was on my way for way for $230. They were professional in every way. And one more thing, I get the 20% off on all parts all the time, just maybe that's because I try to be courteous and professional. (That means not getting your panties in a wad and bitching on BARF:shame)

I have to wonder now if something else is going on. Up front I don't know R1's, & I'm not a pro mechanic anymore (I was in 1976', but that was eon's ago.) If we did get a return repair (extremely rare), it became a #1 priority in my dad's car shop; which BTW is still in business w/my brother now after 50+ years since my late dad opened it up.

I have to wonder if you have like a nick &/or a scratch in a surface of the pan where one of the seals sits on; maybe a tiny burr that's ruining the seal when the pan's tightened down, or maybe a cracked oil line, or maybe even a leak transfer that's coming from somewhere else? (a mini-crack in the pan itself?) Just guessing here.

Many times you can't see that even with a close inspection. That's why if I have something as persistent as your drip :) seems to be, I may have someone else look at it to see if I missed something. Just food for thought. I feel for ya as I've seen these type's of things before, & it's a bear when the shop don't get right on it.

Hope it all turns out ok; don't need oil on the back tire! :wow

if you read thru all my post i said the reason is i dont know jack about the r1's and i dont want to mess around with this elaborate oil pump/water pump system when i just got this bike

oh and yup i been courteous and professional with them, i havent yelled or anything, why do people think im not being courteous and professional with them IVE BEEN PATIENT with them and havent even yelled at them

are you saying im being unprofessional because im just ranting and not going to the owner???, then i guess your right, i dont want to put heat on them, i seen customers talk to the owner of our dealer then puts heat on everyone, then gets ppl angry , im giving them every opportunity to fix this , so since ranting and not going to owner is making me seem unprofessional then i'll stop ranting

i now understand why its taking long on repairs, when i picked up bike last week, i talked to the tech who worked on it , i asked him how many guys they got and they have TWO TOTAL inside a shop that can house at least 5-6

Not looking like a bad guy at all. There are just people on BARF who argue for the sake of arguing. At this point there is no debate you have gotten shitty service and deserve to have the repairs done that you have payed for. Best of luck. It almost seems like you are too layed back and need to kick up some dust to see resolution.

Exactly, plus everyone's quick to defend this or any other shop that's screwed up because it's not their money and they aren't the ones inconvenienced. The moment they are the ones affected you can bet the farm they'll bitch and moan as if on cue......

Welcome to The BARF

I am saying its unprofessional to complain on a public forum and put "the heat on" in pubic rather than talk to the person that can do something about your issues or tell you why they are making you wait.
Maybe its time to buy a manual for your bike and learn something......... it would have saved you money and educate you. In the end will all this bitching here on BARF get your bike done any sooner? NO!
After all this public complaining you find out they are short handed. Carma's a bitch :loser

Welcome to The BARF

I have multiple bikes to ride so a similar situation wouldn't affect me quite the same. In my post I said I understand the OP's frustration. He chose to ignore good suggestions and continued to complain. If I was in a similar situation I would complain to someone that can actually help me.
The OP complained on here repeatedly rather than talk to Jeff Legitt. My point was either fix it yourself or, go to the people that can rectify the situation. Also I was trying to point out that one of the very few times I went to a dealer I used Mach 1 and my experience was professional and pleasant. My point being that I had a good experience with Mach 1.

I do agree with this. Bringing the situation up on a public forum is an absolute last ditch resort when all possibility of sorting the matter out with the corresponding party has been exhausted and now the intent is to warn off others. The legitimacy of this, of course can always be debated.

As I always like to say, there are 3 sides to every story.......his side, my side and the truth somewhere in the middle.

I see no problem at all with the OP posting his frustrations on the forum. He paid for service and when the problem came back up they put him on the back burner. I don't care how backed up they are, if they didn't fix it right the first time the guy should have been moved to the front of the line and his problem resolved. That is simply GOOD BUSINESS. In today's society business need to realize their actions have immediate recourse (i.e. the Internet).

Besides, he has kept us updated. Thus this could go two ways. Mach 1 could bend over backwards and FIX his issue as fast as possible or they can keep saying they will call and don't, take weeks to fix it and the problem could happen again. By keeping us updated WE can decide for ourselves if the service was good or bad.

Go to the owner? A good owner would be coming to you as they would know what is going on in THEIR shop. It's not like a motorcycle dealer has 100's of employees and 50 techs to keep track of. There are at most 2-5 techs and a couple salesmen, maybe a couple admin staff. It's not like it would be too much effort to actually know what is going on in their business. If I owned a shop I would damn well question why a bike is brought back a few times with the same issue.

Again, businesses today need to realize we are in a recession. Thus CUSTOMER SERVICE should be number one and profit number 2. Without repeat business and word of mouth testimonials any small business today can easily fail.

To the OP. Keep us posted. Also, when resolved (good or bad), post your experience on YELP. YELP is a great tool when researching potential businesses (or hell anything else) to get some customer feedback before you decide to use them.
