I'm over Partzilla

should have clarified better - Honda/Suzuki/Yamaha OEM parts

so no to cycle gear

dealercostparts.com and ron ayers and a few others all seem to use the same OEM parts search engine app

I've used Motosport - was ok, can't remember why I stopped using them, pricing maybe.

Motosport was crap in years past before they implemented their live inventory system. Like Rocky Mountain, now you can actually see what's on hand and *know* when parts will be at your door.

so the order was placed on 14Jan at 9:30a

follow up email arrives after 11a same day:

ok, but seriously? 5 days to get parts in the mail? Parts listing showed "in stock", WTF do I get the bait-and-switch once you have my money. Fool me once...

nothing on Tues the 19th, so I launch a chat. "oh, it'll ship Thurs" me: "grrrr email said Tues which was already unacceptable, now no notification of the delay." them: "anything else I can do for you?" me<thinking> yea, go SABOD

So Thur evening I get the cheery "your order has shipped!" email

uhhh, no, not all. "your order has been shipped! scheduled for drop off!" ftfy...

This screenshot from 2 minutes ago, UPS still doesn't have it in the system. Imagine my joy.

so, yeah, my original request still stands - Partzilla, please feel free to SABOD

Never again.

Based off these details, yes the internet shows part in stock but they don't really have it. Usually about 10 days from Partzilla is the norm.:afm199

I don't have an AMA membership, but BikeBandit has fantastic customer service!

So who is actually faster at shipping parts? These sites have to be drop shipping from somebody, who presumably actually has the parts.

When I order Triumph parts from BikeBandit, they source them directly from Triumph.

duh, those pirellis were from BikeBandit, which is a good site. I order from the cheapest. So I've used a lot of different sites, and I can't say that I've ever really had a problem. At least not one big enough to have been collected in the hate/revenge/kill portion of my memory.

PZ just keeps on delivering the joy...

The order that I paid expedited shipping for is now taking a week. On the phone with their customer service for a refund on shipping, which I think is a reasonable request. I'm not making much headway. Standby for the rest of the story.

I've pretty much given up on the idea that this process is going to go easily, so at this point zero fucks are given about the outcome, I'm so dissatisfied that I've come back around to not caring how this shakes out. My parts will appear at some point, and I'll move on with placing my pending $1000 order to get the needed parts for the broken crank R1 to get it back on its feet with anyone other than PZ.

So, with that said, I'd love to be in this exact frame of mind when dealing with issues that I have conflict over going forward in the rest of my life, so this will be my silver lining. Calm, I've got all day, feel free to take your time customer service rep because I'm not going anywhere, no please, go ahead and interrupt me because clearly what you have to say is more important than understanding the customers problem. Resting heart rate in the 50's, BP low, all is well in my world no matter what happens here.

Took her about 10 minutes to finally stop talking and actually look at what here system was telling her, then she wanted to pass me to a supervisor, sure, fine. Then she came back on, all supes busy or out to lunch. her: "Ohhhh, I DO see now that you paid for expedited shipping, I'll go ahead and issue a credit and it did go out ground". me: great, thanks, bye. We'll see if I have to battle for that now over the next week or 2.

Did some comparison shopping based on the suggestions made here and came up a matrix of results that I'll post here later today, interesting outcomes

For tires American Moto Tire has the best prices, plus the shipping is free and they usually get here from AZ in like 3 days.

yea Partzilla is not getting my bushiness any longer. ordered parts on the 17th confirmation that the order would ship on the 22nd. ok so five days to ship, I ordered on a sunday so that gave five business days to ship. did not actually ship until today. the parts are to arrive Thursday. cant imagine what it would of taken if I had not paid for expediting.

I order from:
Rocky Mountain ATM/MC
Motosport
Bike Bandit
Honda of East Toledo
boats.net

Depends upon cost and availability. boats.net is a marine site (obv), but they are a yamaha dealer and have the motorcycle fiches on the site; sometimes the prices are great.
Like mentioned above, often I just google the manufacturer part number and see where it comes up the cheapest. But if time is critical, in stock availability and where in the country it ships from can trump lowest price.

I simply don't pay for expedited on partzilla, I know shipping speed has little to do with how long they take.

RM ATV. They have OEM parts, for the right price, and get them out quick.
Motosport.com
Boats.net
Ktmpartshouse.com for KTM large orders, otherwise RMATV.

I hate bike bandit because they obscure the part numbers.

As mentioned earlier, some dealers like Moto Cafe also have pretty close to internet pricing and I'll buy low qty orders in store.
