INNOVV 2CH Full HD Motorycle Recording System

Hi all. I do not usually contribute to forums, but in this case I thought I might be able to help with some of this issues which have been discussed. If you look through the installation photos mine are those from the 2015 tiger 800 with the gopro adaptor on the front mudguard.

I purchased the system back in February specifically for a trip with friends to Ireland. During the initial couple of months I had several problems with the system which took a while to iron out. I now have a robust system which records without bother and is very reliable. Below is will list some of my findings along the way which I hope may be of help to others.

Intermittent switching on and off. I did struggle with this for ages. Sometimes when checking the videos it would fail to record, other times It would record when parked up regardless of the parking mode. This was contributed by two issues. One was how the unit was powered. The unit was powered from the converter supplied with the unit. This was fed from a relay which was controlled by a feed from the rear light. The problem I had is that when the alarm was enabled the rear light flashes several times, this switching of the supply would make the dvr go into parking mode regardless of setting. This has now been corrected with taking the trigger feed for the relay from the alarm immobiliser circuit. The second issue where the unit would start/ stop recording or turn on / sporadically was tracked to the remote switch. I installed this by the ignition switch and the cable run under the tank. I believe the intermittent operation was caused by pickup. I relocated the switch at the back on the bike and this has now been solved.

Corrupt files on the card. This was a combination of crap memory cards and draining the battery when the camera would default to parking mode, so when the ignition was switched off the camera could not shut down properly. Therefore using the evo cards recommended and fixing the power issues fixed this.

Issues with cameras. I have seen several problems with condensation and cameras not working. When the first issue with condensation was noted, but only with the front camera. I spoke with Rock and a new camera was sent. I did not replace the unit straight away as I thought it may be a one off. I did see some further instances and it was always on a cool summer morning after rain. I fitted the camera screen protectors which Rock sells and the problem did not repeat again. So recommend fitting these by default. I fitted the screen protector with gasket sealant not the double sided tape.
After a while the front camera failed. I took it apart and there was water ingress in the back of the camera, not as a result of the condensation. I replaced the camera with the spare and this also did not work. On inspection the usb connector had some of the pins pushed back in the connector and these were not mating correctly. To get around this I unsoldered the original camera's cable soldered it to the new camera and the system now worked. I checked the rear camera and this also has signs of water ingress. So I removed the backs off both cameras and used a sealant to seal the back onto the case. I have not had any more issues with ingress.

Finally as a cosmetic thing, the alochrome finish is not good. After the summer the front camera looking purple. A quick spray of hammerite has resorted it's look.

Since these issues the camera is working well. I have updated the power to the camera so that the camera will power on in two conditions. When the ignition is on and the imobiliser has been disarmed the camera will switch on. When the ignition is turned off yhe camera will turn itself off. Secondly if yhe alarm goes off this will also start the camera for the duration of the alarm.

I hope this is helpful and may help to fix some of your issues. Also the soldering in the cameras was shitty so this may also be a potential problem. Also never use parking mode. This will keep the internal battery fully charged so the unit shuts down properly

Ahh yeah, then the instructions are the better way to go because if you connected it straight to the battery, the camera would be on all the time even if the bike was off. Personally, I wired the adapter into a PDM60 so I didn't follow the direct-connection method nor the automotive relay method.

A few issues I've run into are 1) the system will skip recording footage whenever it wants 2) the system will freeze and not detect that its external power supply is switched off and thus will completely drain its internal battery overnight 3) the system will function but the buttons won't work.

Try disconnecting the remote switch. I had the same issues with the switch connected. Once disconnected the buttons work normally. I relocated the switch to close to the dvr unit and away from other electronics which resolved it. Or forget the switch and leave disconnected

Thanks for the detailed write-up above and also for this specific tip. :thumbup But ugh, I really like having the remote switch because it gives me visual feedback (through the red LED) that the system is on and recording. I really like having the switch on my handlebars, but if circumstances require the switch to be moved to the back to function properly, then I'll just disconnect it.

I'd be willing to take a look for you for free this Sunday if you want, but no guarantees I'll be able to fix whatever you're seeing, as I have a few gremlins I'm chasing down with my own unit.

I picked up a relay and the necessary wires + connectors which I'll be installing tomorrow. If I don't have any luck, then I'll be checking your availability. Again, I appreciate the offer.

Eventually I'd like to post some feedback on this product, given this is a review thread. Hopefully soon.

I was thinking of leaving that switch off but I like the idea of the visual feedback through the LED. Let me know if removing the switch solves your issues.

I hate to keep spamming this thread, but after installing the relay (and learning more than I ever wanted to know about relays), I still have a few issues.

My setup: power through relay triggered by license plate light, remote switch not installed, default settings

Issue #1: DVR screen does not come on when powered through the cable, although the voice says "recording started." The buttons beep but don't do anything. Can't view menus, or camera views. When unplugged and powered on manually via the internal battery, the screen works.

Issue #2: When I shut off the bike and the unit powers off, sometimes it says "recording stopped" and other times it beeps 8 times. Sometimes it does both.

Issue #3: When powered on and I'm handing the DVR to remove/replace it from the case, it will say "recording stopped" then "recording started" as if the connections were loose, but everything is plugged in securely.

I'll give it a few days to see how reliable it records despite the above.

I just got around to removing the switch from the rest of the unit, but it did not solve my problems. I'm going to contact Innovv directly and see if it's a faulty unit.

I've only seen Issue #1 on my setup. When I power down the unit, it only beeps 8 times, and never says "recording stopped".

Mine has stopped recording completely. I need to research a bit and see if there's a reset procedure.
Makes the noise like it's starting to record, but I get nothing.

How is the results now? If have further questions, we'd like to contact you to do support.

The above issue you do mentioned usually happens on below,

1. lose connection between cables and DVR, You can use the aluminum block to fix the connection and fix the cables on bike to avoid vibration while riding.

2. DVR is un fixed. Fix DVR on bike by supplied plastic bracket and 3M tape.

3. Be sure SD card is qualified in class 10 or above.

INNOVV Motorcycle Camera On A Boat

INNOVV cameras are equipped with 5 meters high approximately. The camera cables run inside

the mast. Due to the maximal length of the cables(6 meters, that is custom made) the central unit was mounted on the mast side. The camera works in the car dashboard mode.

This is my boat - the red circle indicates the position of the cameras (both sides…)

My unit has pretty much stopped recording. I reset it a few days ago, and it recorded a minute or two while the bike was in the garage.
I've ridden it three times since then and it will not record anything. It shows two files that won't play because my program doesn't recognize the file (or something along those lines) yet it plays the vids from when it was in the garage.

This is after the reset, prior to that it was not recording anything at all. The chime sounds when I power on, and the dumb voice says "Recording started" when it apparently hasn't.

Just sent you PM to learn your email address, so we can look into details.
