Innovv C3 camera testing- motorcycle dashcam

I am on the brink of giving up on my Innovv C3. Fourth time now I had something happen and went to get video from it and found everything corrupt and not working. I last updated to the latest firmware after getting the problem where the video would just freeze, but the sound would continue on.

I followed the instructions and updated using the C3 FW &GUI _20150303.rar file off the website and it seemed to install properly. Now I get a bunch of small mov files, some with the prefix LOCK in the name. Most are corrupt and won't open and some just have a few seconds of video (that looks terrible at this point, choppy video cutting in and out).

Useless having this camera installed if it is never reliable. I've had two car accidents happen in front of me and lastly a huge piece of fencing get run over by a big rig in front of me and shoot wood shrapnel everywhere, a piece of which blew out my rear tire while I was trying to dodge them. None of it was capture on video. I'm thinking of getting the Replay XD instead.

These cameras are shit
I have 2 of them sitting here broke..he should be giving refunds back for this junk..

I'm very unhappy about this..waste of time waste of money

It sucks because I love the design, but it's like an alpha level product and we've all just been paying to test it.

This is true..barf shouldn't let him be selling this junk to members
How many people have bought cameras from him that work..

It's junk..sucked in for $126..he should be paying us to test them instead of ripping us off

yea i cant figure out why my unit wont auto turn on and instant record via the usb plug in,

it turns on but i always have to manually start the recording........

That's the thing about this piece of shit camera
I said it before..if something happens to while riding you can't trust this camera to work

He should be giving refunds

He has a banner on the top of the page so he's paying barf

I pulled my C3 off the bike and will do some testing with it to see if I can get it working again. When I first got it, it worked alright up until it needed to loop and would do the freezing video thing. It seems like it's just a software issue, so if they can resolve it I'll be happy again. Just useless at the moment.

Try reinstalling the firmware. Use a small SD card like 8GB or something. I had a 64GB card that I was trying to use to upgrade the firmware, it didn't work. But when I used an older 8GB card, I had no problems upgrading and I haven't had any issues since.

YES! I finally got around to trying this out and it worked. I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't update the firmware using my 64GB card. I took an old 8GB card like you said and the unit finally took the firmware. :thumbup

The chips does not support 64GB SD card.

The racing for development, When the chips used for C3 was ready, the largest is 32GB, now 64GB is anywhere. :):):)

For firmware updates the chips won't detect anything larger than 32GB, but it definitely will record and fill a 64GB card though under normal use though. :thumbup

This has been my experience as well. I've been using a 64GB to record since I got the C3. I guess 64GB is not officially supported. :teeth

Issues

I received the item about a week ago and it has been a nightmare. The initial installation was all right and I even almost finished typing a review on my web site, but then when I realized it's not working... it's been nightmare. I just spent two hours outside in hot Floridian sun and so far nothing.

First of all, the web site says the camera cord is 4m, it is a 1.5m, which is barely enough for me. Then the microSD slot is so deep that I have to use a sharp object to insert the card in the unit.

Now my main issue, I connected the unit to my tag light, so that it will work anytime ignition is ON. When ignition is ON ,the unit starts recording, but as soon as a start my bike up, recording stops. The unit should have recording delay, which apparently is not working. So even though the power goes down for half a second (while the bike is starting), it shouldn't affect the recording.

I am using 64gb card and whenever I tried to upgrade the firmware, I did not see green light. Now I am trying to upgrade with 4gb card I found in the house, not sure if it will work.

Website says it comes with 1.5 meter cable, power cable is 4m. To update your firmware with a 64gb card you'd have to format it fat32 for it to see the firmware update or use a 32 or smaller card.
To get around the power drop upon start you can use a 12v or 5v delay relay, usually seems to effect only some kawasaki and some newer BMW bikes but not all.

Thanks for your help! Would you be able to send me a link to amazon with a good relay? The ones I found were too "advanced". Also, if camera's recording delay (30 seconds) working properly, would power drop still affect it?

Yeah, just updated using 4gb flash card, plugged in my 64gb and delay doesn't work. That probably would of fixed the issue. So you think I should get a relay

http://www.amazon.com/Relay-Harness-Bosch-Style-40AMP-HRNS/dp/B005HFYE1O/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1437413475&sr=8-1&keywords=12v+relay

(seems to be a good deal)

Then plug in the battery and use positive tag light wire for trigger? Do you think power drop when I am starting the bike won't shut down the trigger wire completely?

I think it would depend on what you are using to trigger the relay. I found that using the license plate light works well for me. It also has the added bonus of the fact that if I fuck up the wiring and the light goes off, it's only my license plate affected, not something critical like the brake light or heaven forbid, the headlights. :teeth

Also, the relay that Willy suggested would work better as it would not drop power to the camera for momentary drops in the trigger voltage such as what you get when starting the motorcycle. It has an adjustable delay in turning off power to the circuit that will stabilize the voltage going to the camera.

Thanks for your help guys. I ordered the relay Willy recommended with wires. Not sure how fast it will make it to my house. But I'll keep you updated.

Does your headlight come on as soon as your key is turned or after your bike is started?
