Junction closing?

I would if not for work, I was thinking Sunday but that will depend on weather conditions.

A sad loss for all of us who enjoy the backroads east of Hamilton and south of Livermore. Stopping there is a basic requirement on any ride, at least for a soda if not for a Gerry burger, and maybe a beer, too. I hope the new folks can make a go of it, and let's not take it for granted.

Hmmm..... I have Wednesdays off (from work).
I might jus' haffa go for me a ride to the junction.

Are the new owners gonna keep the name, "The Junction"???
What kinda food they gonna serve??
Do we need to wait for them to renew a beer/wine license for a cold brew?
Does the indoor plumbing work, toilet still leak, have they cleaned it up?
What's the decor', different? same? motorcycle friendly?
Gonna still have PortaPotty's?

Any ch, ch, CHANGES?

I heard that the re-opening might get delayed to Thursday or Friday.
You might want to call ahead to make sure they are open and can answer your other questions.

It sure was a popular place last Sunday. Even though it was closed there was about 20+ bikes at the gate when my small group stopped. It'll be great to have them open again.

What time was that. I passed through about 12 and there wasn't much at all.

As I understand it, from talking with friends/neighbors of the new owners last week, it's all staying the same. The new owners apparently have no plans to make any sort of "improvements" at all... they need to keep the operating costs as low as possible. And the beer/wine license would just be transferred, it's not a renewal.
I would expect it to end up as it was before Pam & Steve took over.

Connie,
What's that mean "before Pam and Steve took over?"

Is that good or bad?

Went by today (Thursday) and they still had the "Opening Soon" sign on the closed gates.

There was quite a bit of snow on the east side near the top of Mt.Hamilton with a lot of sand in the corners. So much that I toook the west side down, then Sierra, Felter and Calaveras. Gorgeous day for a ride.:ride

Well, Pam's idea was to try to turn the Junction into more of a Bar & Grill... she greatly improved the menu, and (to me) the quality of the food improved. She began doing Specials of the Day, and worked really hard to bring the place out of the 50's Greasy Spoon Diner era...
I would expect the new owners to head back towards what it was for all those years they were going there to eat, before Pam and Steve tried to "freshen things up". Mind you, it wasn't god-awful or anything like that... but it would be awesome if they actually kept Pam's menu!

No pulled pork sammich? :(

Not unless Pam's willing to share the recipe... they never had it before she bought the place. And that's a monster bummer... that pulled pork sammich was a little slice of heaven... :drool

According to their website, it's still closed, but will be opening soon.

"barn"?

Better: http://www.thejunctionbarandgrill.com

Glad to see the website... I guess. Every last remote location on the planet seems to have its own website nowadays, or a writeup in someone's blog. But who can begrudge the folks running the place wanting to bring in some business? I sure don't. Let's hope they succeed and thrive.

No, not "barn"... "barandgrill"

Yes, the link title says that. The actual link, though, has "www.thejunctionbarnandgrill.com"
Put your mouse over the link in the post, look at the lower left corner of your screen where the web page is listed.

:teeth

that's weird, because I didn't type it, I copied and pasted... :wtf
