*Liam's Wild Ride*

Oh sorry...we're camping AT the track. I mean to type '@' instead of 'W'

I'm not sure where we're camping right now. Perhaps we'll run into each other???

Two BARF'ers who don't actually live in the BA who live like 20 min from each other meet up 3000 miles away from home.

Funny stuff!!!

I'll be wearing my Tigers had all weekend. I think Liam is doing a get together on Friday night at the track, so probably there we'll run into each other.

Phew, out of the house for a month!

Just realized that I'll be on the road for the next month, to the day, and that meant cleaning the crap out of the kitchen, the fridge (like, totally), and straightening up my room. Since I've pretty much been using the pad as a rest stop between races - coming home to shower and do laundry - I haven't taken much time to go through all my collected paperworks, magazines, and assorted garbage that just sort of accumulates when you aren't really paying attention.

My roomates are out for the summer, too, hanging out on the island of Mallorca until September. That meant I cleaned their stuff out of the fridge, hahaha. Good Riddance! I'm stoked, I really am. This has been incredible for me, and right now I'm feeling like there's so much more potential out there. Personally, professionally, I just keep thinking that there's even more positive energy out there to tap into.

Will I eventually write a book about my experiences? It's possible, but my viewpoint is quite skewed and I'm privvy to so much more information about certain subjects that to write about them would mean career suicide in the racing industry. At least out here. Maybe when I'm done here, I'll think about it, but I think it's more important to concentrate on the best aspects of this sport and the people that it brings together. Think about it - the best rider's, the best bikes, and this year it's possible for a small Italian company with a handful of engineers to topple the sheer might of the Japanese, and more impressively, Valentino Rossi. No matter how it turns out, I'll have been blessed to see what I have and experienced it all up close and personal.

In a few years, would it matter about "spilling the beans" about the tech. secrets? There would be all new stuff then.
Write the book!

barros

How's Barros doing after that crash? Any changes to the bike setup to help with the throttle hand injury?

Both your riders have hand injuries now :(

Good luck on Sunday!!

Liam on Moto GP. com highlights

During Alex's crash, twice we see Liam grabbing his head in a Marsha Brady "Oh my nose!" fashion! Glad to see the surgery went well. Neat idea, showing the surgery on the web! :wow Alex will be fine I'm sure. I hope he beats Stoner again. Loris will be Hopper's team mate next year. Stoners? Who knows?

Well...

That was touching. I don't mean in an "I'm touching myself in bad places" sort of way, but touching as in emotional. Liam was crying. No, wait, he was preparing the victory sandwiches for the crew and there was a high onion content.;) Well, let's see what happens in a few hours. My podium prediction stands: Rossi, Hayden, and Pedrosa. I believe Nick's going to show us what he's made of coming from the fifth :green row. Okay, it might be Stoner up there too but I believe Mini-P, and Honda's, time has arrived. I'd love to see Barros and Stoner up there with Rossi or Mini-P. Two Ducs would be fantastic.

Liam: I've noticed that the bikes tend to have a very small rear sprocket. Do you guys tend to use short ratios in the gearbox and then a tall sprocket ratio?

I NEED AN ALUMINUM FABRICATOR IN CALIFORNIA

OK BARF, time to get involved. I've run through a couple fuel tanks in the last two months, and at this point, I need to have one repaired and painted for the Laguna GP. I'm flying in on Monday, mid-day, with a damaged tank in hand, and I am looking for someone experienced in Aluminum welding and fabrication (specifically fuel cels), who can hammer out two new side pieces for the tank, cut out the old material, and weld it all together nice and clean. THEN, I'd like to shoot the tank white. If I don't hear anything in the next 24 hours, I will more than likely spend Tuesday trying to find a place near Monterey who can do the job before Friday's first practice.

C'mon Barf, we've got a zillion motorcyclists on here, and someone has got to know someone who can handle this. Even more, I'm sure there are car racing people who could handle it as well, so if you know any of those, hit me up.

No PM's, just email me at:

LIAM@MOTOLIAM.com

To further complicate matters, I will be in the air for most of the day, within 16 hours. And today is Sunday in the USA, so everything and everyone is closed. ARGH!

It's really not so bad, just a little "punched down" from the top, and kinda rough around the edges, hahaha.

I'll put the word out and get back to you ASAP, Liam. Nice job for the Hoff today. Bummer for Mr. B, but maybe the rest will help in healing for next weekend.

Race pics shortly.

best,

+me

Turns out I'll get a chance to see you this weekend Liam :thumbup

I'm trying to think of someone to help with the tank. I'll make some calls but you should post up in the "garage" if you haven't already

TTYS

Liam I sent you an email. There's a welder/fabricator in San Jose that works on bikes (mostly cruisers) with 35 years of experience in aluminum welding (he worked on my bike fabricating an aluminum engine piece that snapped off in a crash).

I'll call him Monday and give him a heads up if you haven't found anyone yet.

Yo Liam! We've got you covered! Nichols will take care of you. Call me So we can get it all together.
