Local squid crashes R6 W/girlfriend on back

At first I thought the girl at least had a bit of gear with the jacket....but it actually looks like a fashion leather jacket. And fashion leather offers about as much protection as jack shit.

So a shiny new helmet and nothing else. Smart choices for everyone on R6 that day.

Thats one of those exploding on impact puff jackets........you would think he would take care of someone of her caliber? Takes all kinds I rekon.
 
Damn people.... he wasn't that squid. He rode over his head a little bit and crashed -- I'm sure no one has ever ridden over their head and had a close call, or even crashed for that matter. :rolleyes

Yeah he had a passenger, yeah he was riding over his head and sure "put her at risk" blah blah "no boots" etc... but still....

Plus, show me what gear she could have had on? I mean... it looks like that "fashion leather" or whatever else everyone is talking shit about seemed to have done just enough. They landed on grass, she got up, he got up... whatever.

I wish I knew what it was like to be flawless in my life.

PS: It's nice out, so I'm gonna go get on my bike in jeans and a hoodie, toss my girl on the back in the same and go for a nice fuckin' ride.

It's actually pretty god damned awesome. I'd give you more details about it...but it's just like having a threesome. If you've never had one, it'd drive you crazy to hear about it.
 
Yah I'm with the few of you on here that first noticed the complete lack of common sense to handle a situation after a crash and especially after someone is in visual and audible pain. That irked the hell out of me.

Anywho, he messed up, but they are both fine. On the R6 forum he does mention he offered her gear and she declined so he gets a little more points from that I suppose. He is obviously fully geared so he has the reality check on the importance of gear.

FWIW, I didn't take my gf on the back until I had at least somewhere around 10,000 miles under my belt. Not much, but I still had the discipline to wait. When the time did come around to taking her, I bit the bullet and spent the cheese on getting her gear.

So, like, I am wondering what if, the Crasher(Cortes) had a different TYPE OF BIKE , would he have avoided the crash?

I am thinking: what if he had a KTM 990 Adventure. Ktm 640 ADV. Ducati Mutristrada. Could he have avoided the crash by being able to 'flick' more easily?

If you wanna say "nah nah it was pure simple target fixation", well duh I guess he could've crashed the same way on a Vespa 300cc, right? Let's just "think what if, it wasn't merely target fixation".

Any merit to this question?
