McRib

I also spent some time in the 90s working the grill (ironically called so...) at McDonalds as well as the drive-thru pay window which we lovingly called "The Hole". That was probably the easiest way to knock out $4.25 per hour ever! :laughing

1973. My older sister’s first job was working the counter at Mick D, Monument Boulevard,
Concord. She was my goddamn hero.

Pulled into Mick D tonight. I saw the McRib advertised bigly at the order kiosk thing. But it was paired with a Dr. Pimple. Wtf.

I got the heebie jeebies and went with a No. 9 Combo instead. Conditions were just not right. Maybe if paired with a Coke I would’ve kicked the McRib tire.

I don't get the attraction. Pressure cooked gristle, on a white bread bun, slathered with a sugar laden colored sauce, served wrapped in paper. For $5.00.

But then I never got the attraction to Honda's 'Pacific Coast Highway' bike.

Now I’ve just about had it. There has been mostly hate speech in this thread about the McRib. Borderline treason I say. But fine. I’m over trying to convert people to the proper way to eat fast food.

But I. WILL. NOT. TOLERATE. the besmirching of the glorious nectar of the gods more commonly known as Dr. Pepper. I will not. Tread lightly kids.

Is Dr. Pimple paired with a McRib a thing?

Moreover, isn't Dr. Pimple basically carbonated cough syrup?

And lastly, a part of you died today:

Yeah that’s the word. But I treat every time it comes back like it’s the last time. Sometimes it comes back this time every year. And sometimes the yellow jumpsuit wearing clown leaves us hanging for years. So I am prepared if it is indeed the last time.

Dr. Pepper is the finest soda ever when it’s ice cold. And perhaps the most awful one when it’s warm…and yeah kinda tastes like some kind of cough syrup. Not sure what the “23” flavors in it are. And I don’t care. Much like the McRib, it tastes awesome? I eat it. Don’t care how bad it is for me.

I had just talked about the Dr Pepper thing with my wife last night. Her exact words are "It tastes like cough syrup"

I like it, and will drink it when i feel the need for a soda if it's in the fridge.

I've, for the most part, weaned off soda. So every now and then i'll enjoy one. Dr Pepper, certain root beers, cherry coke etc.

I too have weaned myself off of soda for the most part. I don't keep it in the house anymore and just drink soda water that has no calories and no sugar in it. But if I do have soda with lunch or something while at work, it's always Dr. Pepper.

Cough syrup? :dunno

Makes me wonder if there's a genetic thing involved like with the people that think cilantro tastes like soap.

I've weaned myself off liquids that come in plastic bottles, actually all bottles be they plastic or glass.

I drink Hetch Hetchy tap water. Tastes great and there are regulations that ensure that its safe to drink.

I tasted Dr Pepper once about 20 years ago or more. Just tasted it, didn’t do anything crazy like drink a glass of it. Never felt much need to ever try that again.
