N+1

One at a time always suited me and met all my street needs (commuting, twisties, touring).

Almost bought a second for dirt but figured I didn't really have the time.

Never had an interest in the track.

At one point we had three riders in the household and we switched around depending on mission and mood between my 650R, a GS500f, a 675 Daytona, and a Ninjette.

What dub said. You need a quiver to address different disciplines.

I look at them more the way golfers view their clubs. Tools in a tool box as opposed to independent entities. I've got my driver (track bike), sand wedge (dirtbike), putter (pit bike) and a few in the middle to fill the gaps in between (commuting, 2-up duties, etc).
Also, sometimes I break my clubs....it's nice to have spares for when the primary equipment is down. :laughing
