NFL 2018/2019 Thread

Yeah. The patriots defensive game plan was something Chargers couldn't deal with.

Looked at another way, this was just the Chargers finally fizzling out the way they have for years. Except they made it farther along. Talk about always a bridesmaid and never the bride. All the talent that has come through there for at least two decades and still....they're kinda cursed.

I got the exact opposite from it, BA. The Chargers D took a huge dump today and then Rivers tried to force the ball down field too much. At least that was my take. :dunno

Whether it was the pats o-line or the chargers defense I don’t know, but Brady sure did have an awful lot of time in the pocket.

Well, the announcers focused on the different defensive look Belichick put forward and joked that who knows what the scheme is next time.

Its some kind of minor irony that the game that requires the most brawn is won by brains in this case. Brady is slowing up in body, but not in mind. He sees everything. I think the duel next week will be fascinating, young vs. old.

Two good games and two games won practically at the outset. Life was beckoning a bit in the fourth quarters for the latter. Not a lot of halftime adjustments for the woeful.

Brady has never relied on mobility or athleticism.

Well, he was never a scrambler but you can see these guys start to slow up even if they are pocket types. I think he's been pretty athletic over the years. Ya have to be. He was never the statue type.

He's always moved just enough to stay out of trouble and get a ball down field when necessary. I see Brady's age catching up with him, but like P. Manning, his football IQ will keep him in the game longer than an athletic QB would ever imagine.

it would never happen but it would be interesting to see the first place college team play the last place nfl team at the end of the season.

The college team would be crushed because you’re talking about boys playing against men. Sure, maybe a handful of college players on a team could stand up but it takes eleven. Two to three guys on each side of the ball isn’t going to get it done.

It wouldn’t even be fair and would be a tremendous blow to the college kids.

As lopsided as some of the pro games may seem the level of talent in the pros is essentially the top 3% out of division 1.

It would be neither fun nor interesting.

My apologies for being a Debbie Downer about this. It’s a pet peeve.
