man, either way this is some serious shit. When millions of dollars are on the line, for both parties, I can see that desperate decisions may be made.

but goddamn what a shit show.

don't think this affects the assault weapon charge though.

Yeah, Foster is going to be standing in some shade for a while in my book. He's going to have to behave like a veritable saint for years for this to wear off. Otherwise it's just another cover-up for a high profile jock and the first black mark on the new FO/HC.

Yeah, but the NFL doesn't really care about weapons charges and out in America, where most of the NFL is and where this guy was born and was going to school like 2 years ago, his weapon would have been perfectly legal and considered a fundamental civil right. Still, the NFL does not like it when players break the law, so if the Domestic goes away and he just has that Kalifornistan charge against him, he will probably get a small suspension for it.

Apparently the evil woman called and reported he had two illegal rifles in the house as part of her bullshit. There were no accounts of him brandishing the weapon irresponsibly or anything, he is only charged with possession of a banned weapon.

yeah about the weapons charge.

how are you so sure that the woman is evil in this case?

Rumor has it the gun charge may go away because it was legal in Alabama

Adam Schefter is saying that Cleveland is taking Baker Mayfield #1

:facepalm

Like FFS, just take Rosen 1 and Barkley 4 (or trade with Buffalo for 12, 23, next year's 1st, and another pick)

How are they going to fuck up so bad

It's Cleveland.

I was seriously hoping NY would have a brain fart and take Mayfield so I could give Eldy's ass a good ride over it. Of course Cleveland is going to swoop in and spoil my fun. :laughing

If Cleveland actually take Mayfield, NYG should run up and scream out Rosen's name before they're even announced on the clock.

Because after the apparently FALSE assault charges were filed, she also called the Police to report he had illegal weapons in his house, prompting search and seizure. Which, since CA Laws around possession of functional battle rifles are a blatant violation of our civil rights, she is supporting the fascist state. This falls in line with her attempts to use police intervention to destroy him and his career, as she has apparently proclaimed was her intention.

Evil.

having been on the receiving end of this shit in an attempt to have me never see my children again and become an indentured servant/free paycheck for life to my daughters mother i have zero sympathy or tolerance for this lady's bullshit

EVIL. so evil i'd type this shit in comic sans if i didn't have a shred of dignity

only thing i'll give her is she formally recanted. i hope the DA shows the same enthusiasm for prosecuting a false-accuser as they did for going after the NFL player (who, ironically, is the actual victim here)

i'm sorry. not football. but it's a tangentially related to a current event for a football player so..... i'mna just stop there

it's draft day

i had forgotten Carlos Hyde went to CLE. I could actually seem them passing on Barkley now, at 4

Honestly, a lot of noise has been that we are going to go for Defense and take Chubb. Rosen makes more sense to me, but NY feels they have more strength in Offense with Shepard, Engram and Beckham on the field, and don't want to plan to make Eli obsolete yet. The problem as it has always been, is that unbreakable Eli is made of concrete, and he goes to pieces with no O-Line, and we lost half of our mediocre O-Line to free agency without a lot of fixes on the horizon.

I just think that you rarely get a draft this deep with QB talent, and the Giants rarely get a top 5 Pick. Honestly, the last time we had a pick this high, is when we took Rivers at #3 to get Eli, which also probably the last QB draft this deep. I even wondered a bit if we tanked the team last year for this draft after the strong year in 2016. The time to invest in a franchise guy is now. Rosen, Allen, Darnold, any one of these could be the guy. Rosen is probably the most plug and play, but Eli is the man in 2018, no question, get your man of the future and let him bench warm him until Eli has too many interceptions to ignore. If it worked for Aaron Rogers, it can work for our next guy.

yeah for NY pretty much this. get your guy, sit on him for two years. get him some spot starts when Eli gets dinged up. develop your very own Jimmy G

they're not in the same roster talent shape as Jacksonville taking Fournette or even Dallas taking Zeke. avoid Barkley. get that QB. groom them. profit

4 is actually a great trade down spot with Buffalo. There will be at least 1 QB available still there and the Bills need a QB hella bad.

If I'm Cleveland I'm asking Buffalo for 12, 22, a 3rd, and a 1st next year for #4.

sometimes i wonder if teams who've had long runs with a probowl caliber QB get complacent when thinking about their next QB

like, they think it's easy to just pick one up and hit it off like it's no big thing because of how well and long their current one lasted

i'm surprised there aren't more teams doing what GB did with Rogers, etc

Short term vs long term. NYG could be in Win-Now mode. Never know if the front office peeps have anything long term in mind, but winning a ring could earn them more time.

I mean, they try, but it is hard you know? Even most 1st Round Guys don't go anywhere at QB. If you already have a guy, it is hard to not take that murder invoking Linebacker or bison sized OT that can contribute right away.
