they've realistically been an 8-8 team for 3 years now. Last year they got injured on the o-line and qb. The men smelled desperation from their coach and then started to tune him out. They need someone who can hold their attention. Someone who they know he knows what he's talking about.
It looks like they have a strong starting unit. I don't think they have the ability to absorb many key injuries though. They look a little thin on depth to me.
I'm interested to see how Gruden plays his offense. I don't see him straying too far from the west coast, ball control offense he made work pretty well here before, with a similar set of players (good offense, questionable defense). Cooper, Bryant and Nelson. Beast and Doug Martin. Jared Cook. A very good but aging o-line with a bit of depth now from the draft. There's a good amount of talent there.
Defense is still a question. Picking up Johnson from KC can be huge...if he stays healthy. Maybe Bowman comes back, maybe not. I'll have to see something from them before putting any faith there.
I'm smelling 10-6, but we'll see. If Chucky and Carr gel like with Gannon, then we're off and running

Dude. I think you just got your Gold Rush Card revoked. All the Faithful I know swear the only thing worse than a Cowgirl is a Seachicken, and they mainly only hate the Seachickens that much since Pete Carroll. Like, they hate Cowgirls worse than Raiders.
I think I can make an argument that you should know me better than this by now. Firstly, I don't much give a shit what others think about how I'm supposed to act. And second, fucking with you (in a friendly manner of course) is kinda fun.

Shhhh....I didn't say I do it openly. There is a small, secret place in my heart that roots just to piss you off. It's super small though and I'm always satisfied with a Cryboys' loss regardless who they're playing. When they play the Seahags I root for a nuke to land on the field.

The bolded part is what made me realize that I was rooting for the Cryboys - something I had never done before. Digging deeper into it is what led to the discovery that I hadn't started doing it til I joined barf and participated in the NFL threads.
