NFL 2018/2019 Thread

The injury promises concern me. Dude is a baller without peer when he is playing, but he spends about half his career injured.

Saqsquatch got a hammie, Evan Engram got a concussion, Big Vern now has an injury. Just seems like these last few years these Giants are made of glass. Like 4 of the last 6 years we have led the league in IR Players. I feel like this is a coaching thing somehow, something about mental toughness. Like, if the Jets were this banged up all the time, I would be looking at the field, but it feels like the team is just built fragile. Not looking good for our resurgence...

People do age remember, and I would say playing pro NFL, you age physically alot faster then other pro sports.

:rofl

did he top the qb pay? over andrew luck right? he was last big $$ extension?

I think Grapp came after Luck. Not sure.

The Squatch is a rook, OBJ came out of the gate injured as a rook, it isn't just the older guys. Giants just seem to fold into medical awful fast. Maybe it is a problem with the scouting staff not having an eye for resiliency in their picks, but the injuries are just too much, too often, to too many guys for too many years for there not to be something there.

I suspect it may be that Eli is a magic health vampire, and his unbreakable resiliency is sustained by devouring the life force of other players in the locker room.

He's getting the same percentage of the salary cap. In 2 years 30M per season won't be a lot of money for a top tier QB, the cap is projected to be 200M in 2020.

The numbers will go up as long as the available money to spend goes up.

Interesting. So if the league doesn't make more money the cap stays put or goes down? Teams set up right financially will be at a huge advantage then and those spilling over will be headed toward NFL purgatory like my 9ers were from 2002-2007.

Basically yes. The cap is a percentage of revenue.

how about fuck the Raiders for not paying him what he's worth? Nah?

Blame the Raiders for being a broke ass team that can't pay its players. What will they do when they hit on the draft again? Good luck in Vegas...

Let’s see, Raiders have his rights for another 2 years? If they keep fining him for not playing they may get enough to pay him....

:rofl

The Raiders are asking for two first round picks for Mack.

Dey out dey muh-fuggin' mynz

Seems like a reasonable price if you didn't also need to sign him to a godfather deal.
