NFL 2018/2019 Thread

The only thing I can add is that playing football and dragging knee are two entirely different sports. Toss in that they were two entirely different injuries and it adds up to apples and oranges x2 in my book.

Did you get a doctor to sign off that you are well enough to participate again in your chosen sport?

maybe but it was clear to me on TV that he was allot more mobile in Dec/Jan than I was (I was still in cast)

I cant feel 1/2 my foot still and probably never will due to 2 huge 4 inch gashes on my foot, also i have 1 horizontal screw and 2 vertical ones, the 1 horizontal is supporting the bone that lands all the weight from your leg.

Walking is still a thought process sometimes for me, him having the $$$ and not having to work and just rest up for spring training is surprising to see him still not on the field. I went back to work in Nov like 5 weeks after my accident in a cast and was on special work till like feb of this year.

Remember motogp guys race with broken legs/hips/fingers and collar bones week in and week out. :rolleyes for litearlly 45+ mins of hardcore railing on the edge.

There is a lot more to it than just healing. There are things triggered by certain behaviors in a contract. If he plays X game it triggers Y Bonus, if he re-injures even though appearing able to play, then X money kicks in, etc.. There could be a lot of reasons why he is not on the field that are not based purely on how well he can stand and throw.

This makes sense, I forgot their contracts have performance and injury clauses all over them.

Also a little different scenario for the eagles, they have a young top 5 qb, and their backup just won them the ship last year, so its not like they cant win with foles.

no, my accident occurred during the fires last year, and I am from santa rosa so my Kaiser was closed.

I had to go to san rafael and sit for 2x days/nights trying to get scheduled to get into ortho surgery - due to the entire hospital being slammed from taking all the patients from rosa.

Since my doc was out of town we did xrays locally and he would review them remotely and extend my special workers requirements, the face to face talks ceased and it was purely with my PT, i do have 1 more xray to do after my 1 year from surgery is up but again it will be done remotely and I will get to read some email text thing about my xray again.

And they did, right? So yeah. It might be like, you know, they save X-Mill if we doesn't report until Y, who knows. I got autodrafted Wentz in like the 8th round on my Fantasy Team, but I dumped him.

So you're "dragging knee" without being released by the Doc to do so? (I had to get my Doc to "sign off" in order for my insurance to be applicable again.)

Wentz is probably physically capable of playing. It's that he hasn't gotten clearance to do so, and as Eldy has already pointed out there are fiscal ramifications associated with it. Things that don't matter/apply to you in your situation. :dunno

That's hardcore, yo. :laughing

This is 100% correct. I do not allow Cowgirls and Shitbirds on my fantasy team. If I let any rounds auto-draft and I pick one up, I don't even trade them, they just get cut.

I do admire your principled stance.

I dunno what you mean, I took a helo ride for my broken foot and had a major concussion that I passed some protocol the next AM - but never had this insurance sign off. And my broken foot was my driving foot as well.

My roommate had a previous accident where he could not drive immediately after and had to jump through hoops to get his license again. I fortunately did not have to go through those channels.

LOL this fucking thread is hilarious.

paying for cable service but refusing to hook up their bullshit box. using the login credentials to stream the game via Fox Sports app.
they are adding an extra 30 second commercial per break.... it's literally not live TV anymore just because these fucks are bilking viewers for every stupid moment of add viewing they can. i'm fucking livid. gonna cancel this shit and go back to stealing the streams

I realize how "1st world problems" this gripe is. I could easily plug the stupid cable box into my tv. but now it's the fucking principle of the matter

I have a deep seated loathing for commercials to begin with and these fuckers want me to pay to watch through their channel and then get paid by the advertisers too

and then when I do the right thing and pay for it I can't even get the content how I want to. i'm sitting here watching the Niners drive update on my ESPN app before the fucking commercial break is over. horseshit

^ yeah the biggest problem with football isnt political. Its ruining the experience with commercials. Wish the NF L would figure this out.

They want you to pay for Red Zone, where there are no commercials.

I have RZ, I’m a slave to “Big Football”, but not the sponsors.... :laughing

Steelers that bad, or are the Browns that good? We’ll never know, they tied.

I think the Browns are actually... OK? Or maybe a very small step above OK and trending toward good. Rather impressive turn around from a team who just last year had a perfect season :laughing. Need a little more data at this point, though.

Even so. Wow. :party
