NFL 2018/2019 Thread

It's only $7M guaranteed.

I'm still not convinced he's able to play at the level he was before, but that's a cheap as hell gamble.

But, then again, this is the asshole that ate turkey legs on our fucking logo.

Ugh.

I remember when Haley went to Dallas. Was a gut punch. I imagine that’s how some Seahag fans are feeling right about now.

well, i think he's a fantastic pickup for the 9ers. Still plenty of cap space, and now with a blue chip name like Sherman, there should be no doubt to other FAs that their window of success is open and they should be strongly considered if they want to go to a winning team.

hopefully the Raiders will be able to have a winning season again, which will make the clash at the Jeans even more fun :thumbup

Just shave your head bald for christ sakes

But, Bro, that peach sweater though. I don't even understand how he is allowed to leave the house looking like that. You would think he would have somebody that would tell him.

He flies to Palm Springs for that cut:

Regarding the bowl cut, Keown writes that Davis travels more than 400 miles from his home in northern California to Palm Springs just to get it cut at the same barber:

"In perfect Davis family fashion, it's a middle finger to convention. Davis travels to Palm Desert to get it cut, just as he traveled to Chico from Oakland to visit a preferred barber long after he left college at Chico State. "I think he's had three barbers since college," [former Raiders WR Cliff] Branch says. "If he likes something, he stays loyal."

A few more details on the Sherman deal:
That’s a complicated way of saying Sherman can be an $11- or $12-million-a-year player, but he’s going to have to play like the Richard Sherman of 2013 to get it.
“Once I make a Pro Bowl, $8 million the next year is guaranteed for me. It gives me the ability to control my destiny. The 49ers have skin in the game. I have skin in the game. In my former contract, no matter what I did this year, nothing would be guaranteed to me next year. I couldn’t feel secure in my contract. Now, if I play the way I know I’m capable of playing, I know I’m going to get paid.”

I have said it over and over. Paraag Marathe is a fucking salary cap and contract wizard.

Sherman probably cost himself a bit of $ by acting as his own agent, but he also saved the 5% agent fee or whatever.

He also ran the same contract by Seattle and they declined because of all the incentives.

It also must be a hell of an incentive to feel like you control your own destiny. For an aging player that might make a big difference. Sherm is a lot of things but I don't think "Dummy" is on the list.

You don't gradute from Stanford if you're dumb.

However he also didnt' have any experience negotiating a contract.

He's betting on himself, big time. If he plays like a pro bowler, he gets paid the same as he would have in Seattle.

Dolphins cutting Suh to get out of cap hell.

Wow.

I heard 9er fans call him a lot worse over those years he beat them, and it was usually prefaced by "uppity"...

It will be fun to watch their about face.

As for Suh, he might be just the guy to give Mack some help. :teeth
