No, that is not what that thinking is. The physical result of a game where every series ends up in a 3rd and 1-3 with a run to convert is very different from a game where you get a lot of passes that are caught or dropped for yard chunks and clock stops and score or punt. The punting makes it better to play in if guys can't convert, but those are not as fun to watch as a brutal 11 minute drive downfield for 80+ yards and a touchdown on the ground.
In a pass heavy game, they guys are gassed, more the secondary guys than anybody, but being gassed from running around just does not feel the same as a whole game of banging up on other pads all game. After a game like that, fucking everything hurts, your toes hurt, your arms are beat to shit, your chest feels weird, the cold tub won't solve it, it takes a couple of days at least before you don't feel beat to shit anymore.
Like getting gassed from chasing the ball downfield, you get a fluid drip after the game, get in some hot water, stretch it out, sometimes your ankles and hands are sore, but usually not too bad unless you had to make some nasty high speed tackles.
Pass heavy games feel very different afterwards from games played on the line all day.
