Brandon Jacobs is my favorite RB of all time. While Derrick Henry may not be quite as big, he is damn near the size Big Thunda was and looks like even more talented as a runner. He may become just as fear inducing as my man was in his prime.
 
Cowboys hired Mike McCarthy

Carolina is hiring Baylor HC Matt Rhule. This is apparently a huge upset because the Giants were planning on hiring him but Carolina wouldn't let him leave and kept offering more and more to entice him to take the job.

Now the Giants are apparently hiring Pats WR/ST coach Joe Judge as their HC.
 
Rhule dodged a huge bullet not signing with the New Jersey Guidos. RIP to your career, mr. Judge

It is a pretty big upset. The only reason they let McCarthy go, is because they have been fixated on Rhule the whole time. No fucking way we would pay 7y/$60m for a College Coach though. All he would get from us would be a 2-3 year prove it deal.

Not sure what they see in Joe Judge that made them not chase Eric Bieniemy. Some people also grumbled about Harbaugh, but I think he is too nuts to survive the press in NY.

Giving a brand new coach a 2-3 year deal seems like a horrible idea.

According to Twitter, NYG never even got Rhule in for an interview at all. That's... pretty bad.

Yeah, they just got done talking to McCarthy. Rhule was up next, which is why I assume Carolina pulled up the dump truck.

I can see it. You know, the guy just fucking wins in the regular season, he just can't seem to win games as a HC once the weather turns. I think OC under an HC that can run leadership with a good DC is a great fit for Garrett. We would totally take him and it would be lovely to stick it to Dallas when we get our next ring and they stall haven't pinned one down since the 90's. :laughing

Anything that makes Jerry Jones sad gives me great joy.
 
Garrett to NY as a coordinator makes a lot of sense.

Sounds like much of the injured 9ers defense will be back for the game. I suspect we'll see a pretty low scoring game. I'll guess 17-14.

If we don't see KC vs Bal in the AFC finals I'll be shocked.
 
yeah the bye week was amazing considering their regular season bye was week FOUR.

Getting Kwon Alexander, Dee Ford, and Jaquaski Tartt back on defense is HUGE. Same with Mike Person on the OLine too.

so how's the 9er fanbase feeling right now? confident? nervous? The team is set up for success but there has to be a good deal of pressure on them too.

I'm going to get to a bar on Saturday because it should be fun to be around all the excitement.

I would say both.

Getting back those defenders is huge. As great as the defense was early in the season, those injuries really did a number on them. Ford especially because Bosa just got constant double teams with nobody on the other edge, but Tartt and Alexander were also significant losses.

I will say I'm super glad that it's not that Toots again.
 
Last evening I had to listen to a drunken idiot of a 9er fan tell a Dallas fan that the cowboys should sign Tom Brady “until Dak was ready”....

Funny enough, he was surprised at the laughter he received.
